Weekly cooking contest//week #05 : Meat curry with shatkora
Hello everyone.
Assalamualaikum. This is my second post in this community. Today I am going to participate this cooking competition . It’s really a nice competition. I am happy to participate in this competition. First of all I would like to thank @sabbirrr for organizing such a beautiful competition.Today I am going to participate this competition with a traditional meat curry with shatkora. In Bangladesh the people of Sylhet division like this food , they often cook this food in various occasions and enjoy lots. I am not from from sylhet, my husband is from sylhet. I have learned to cook this testy food from my husband.
Now going to the main point my curry,It’s very easy to cook.
The things I needed :
- Cow meat : One and half kg. ( any meat, best for cow or lamb)
- Onion : 2 cups
- Tomato : one
- Green chilli: 2 or three ( as you like)
- Garlic and ginger mixed pest : three tablespoons
- Oil : 3 to 4 tbsps
- Salt : as tested
- Cinnamon : 3 small pieces
- Cardamom: 4 to 5
- Turmeric powder: 2 tablespoons
- Cumin powder: two tbsps
- Curry powder : 4 tbsps
- Red chilli powder : 2 tbsps
- Coriander powder 2 tbsps
- Garam masala : 1/2 tea spn
16 . Clove : 4 pieces
And finally shatkora 4 to 5 pieces, don’t added more pieces, If you add more, it will be sour. I had cut off the upper juicy part of the shatkara, just need only the fleshy parts that has a testy smell.
You have need all the spices that are needed to cook normal meat All the spices . Shatkora is special, it makes double test the curry. You can buy it from shop, in England we use frozen shatkora that can bye any Bengali and Indian shops.

Process:
At first I chopped the onions and tomato, then cut the green pepper along the middle. I washed and cleaned the meat beforehand.
At first heated the fry pan, then poured the oil. Then added garlic and ginger pest. After mixing them properly, added onions, tomato and chilli that had chopped and cut before. Then added salt, cinnamon, cardamom, cloves. Mixed them nicely . After mixing them leave it for 10 minutes.

My little one had come to help me, she likes to help me, she always ask me, mum can I help you?
After 10 to 15 minutes, I had added others spices and shatkora , then reduce the heat and leave it for 5 minutes. After 5 minutes I have added 3 cups water , then increased the heat and left it for 10 more minutes.
My curry is ready now.
