Santan (Ixora Coccinea)

Yesterday, my family and I went to a beach resort to unwind and while walking and exploring the resort I came across this beautiful flower known as Santan here in the Philippines. I just randomly took photos of it because it looked beautiful.

Santan is a common flowering shrub here in the Philippines and other countries as well. You can always see an arrays of Santan in different places like parks, resorts or in the streets. It has different colors but this one, a reddish orange colored Santan has the most vibrant color of all.

When I was young I used to pick a bunch of Santan flowers and connect the blossoms end to end to make flower necklaces, flower bracelet or flower crowns. We even pulled the blossoms and sip it's sweet nectars. Good old days it was!! We really enjoyed playing Santan flowers that time.

So there it is! My entry for flower photography.
