Weekly challenge on Steem! Pet Art/Photography Contest
Hey Steem community!
I'd like to present you "Bestia", which means "Beast". My dog, which unfortunately passed away some time ago.
If you would have the opportunity to meet Bestia, you would know that he was called that way ironically. It was very friendly, energetic puppy which loved to spend time with other people.
Bestia was rescued from the family which wanted to kill him. Their dog had six puppies and they couldn't find anyone who would like to adopt Bestia so they planned to take his life away. Luckily we were in around.
In fact, we didn't plan to have a dog in that moment, but we couldn't let him die so we decided for adoption. It was one of the best decisions in our lives. Bestia was a great friend, motivation to go out of the bed in the worst days of my depression illness, emotional support and reason why I lost few extra pounds (you cants see it on the photo, but believe me - now I'm not so chubby).
We travelled with Bestia half of the world. Visited 10 countries and every time when we were sleeping in a tent somewhere into the wild, our dog was protecting us and waking us up each time he heard some noise.
After many years together, Bestia died killed by a car in Chile. It was hit and run. We never had the opportunity to look into the eyes of the person who took the life of our friend.
It was very difficult experience. Still, after so much time, we are missing our dog, but we accepted what cannot be changed and are trying to focus on the great memories from the past.
Recently we adopted another dog which quickly became the family member. We are sharing our love, but not forgetting about the previous companion.
