CONTEST#9 || WORLDWIDE ART CONTEST||WEEK#3 || A Sketch of Drake

Hello friends, this is my first of posting my work into this community and I am here to aid decorate the community with nice and attractive sketches of my handy works.

The image below is one the popular Canadian rappers, singers, songwriters, producers, actors and in all, an entrepreneur, popularly known as Drake.

I sat down in my own imagination and with the reference image at the right hand side, above to put him on a paper. This has been part of me of my work and I enjoy doing it.
Below is the step by step processes of the final result

Step 1.

I made a rough sketch of his face using my graphite pencil. This is normally the part that most artist find hard to do, it is the main part of the sketch resemblance to the original, and it is usually done before any shadings or paintings. I finished part of the face by shading the beard, putting the eyes and eyebrows, and shading part of the hair ( the front part)

Step 2.

I used my pencil to then sketch roughly, the other part of the head and I added a rough sketch of the ear in order to get the image I am targeting. I also sketched roughly, the base of the head and added the hoodie he is wearing, and I then used my charcoal pencil to shade the background of the image.

Step 3.

I then shaded the other half of the hair (the back part)

Final result

With the aid of my charcoal pencil and ear cleaner, I was able to shade it to my preferred boldness, in order to match with the original.

With the above steps and with reference image, I think my colleague artists would be able to do similar.
