Good day great people of steemit city and how are we all doing aswell hope we are steeming well, I am by name joycebubble and a new member in steem community and I hope you all will find my work interesting. Today, am presenting to you all one of #African's rich, nutritious, and healthy native dish called #Breadfruit.
Breadfruit in the Eastern part of Nigeria, Abia State, we have a native name that we call it #UKWA, so as different people in different parts of the world Have a special name which they call it. The breadfruit is among the #Moraceae family
and scientifically called ##TRECULIA AFRICANA according to the ##Guidian Life Researchers online.
Breadfruit is a tropical fruit which contains healthy substances such as:
• vitamin A & C
• Minerals like potasuim, copper, zinc, iron, calcium etc
• Soduim
• Carbohydrate.
• Protein etc.
THE HEALTH BENEFITS OF BREADFRUIT.
- The breadfruit helps to reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease.
- The nutrients helps to boost our immune system thereby forming strong resistance against infection.
- Breadfruit is a source of energy due to the Carbohydrate in it.
- Breadfruit helps to improve the proper cell growth in the body etc.
##PREPATION METHOD.
- Clean (sweep) your kitchen and wash your pot.
- Wash the breadfruit very well to avoid eating sand.
- Get your ingredients ready such as:
• Sliced onions
• Fresh pepper and 1 1/2 tablespoon of dry pepper
• Fresh tomatoes
• Red Oil
• Grinded Cray-fish
• Salt
• Knor Maggi 2 cubes
• Smoked / Dry fish and Chicken or beef meat (if you have money).
• Potashe soften it.
How I prepare my delicious breadfruit.
I placed my pot on gas and added the quality of water that will be okay.
When the water boils I put my washed breadfruit and allow it steem for like 5mins.
Add your cray-fish, Maggi, tomatoes, and pepper allow to boil.
In 10 mins time you add your dry fish to enhance the natural taste.
15 mins time you add your salt and red - oil allow it to steem for some time you put it down.
Your porridge breadfruit is ready.
Note: most people add potash so it will soften quick.
