How Are You Enjoying The Rainy Days? Written and Photography Contest|| PAMAMANHIKAN ||
Have a rainy morning #thesteemitcity. Well, it's been raining cats and dogs for how many days already here in Cebu, Philippines. Having a rain is like a blessing. Considering the humidity here in Cebu, temperatures feel hot all year round, but with a chance of rain, we could able to feel the coldness everywhere. But in other parts of Cebu, we could also experience even fogs.
How are you enjoying the rainy days?
So this is it. I will share with you in details on how I spend and enjoy my rainy days along with my family and relatives. This just happened one day around this year.
We went to Pamamanhikan for my brother in Danasan Danao City, Cebu, somewhere in Northern part of Cebu, Philippines, but it is a mountainous part area of Danao. We had to travel 3-4 hours from our respective home residence.
It was raining very hard that time, but no one could resist for the event. We had to go no matter what, because we already prepared everything. We even woke up so early in the morning to prepare the foods. So it was a must, rain or shine. We even rented a multicab for the transportation going there so that all of us could go along.
It was all muddy going there because of the heavy rain. There's also a part of the road that was slidy. But no matter what, we had to trust the driver. It was a bit scary but at the same time it was also fun. We were all wet that time but we were enjoying the rain along the way.
When we reached the area, the driver parked the multicab. The pathway was so narrow that's why we had to walk for 2 kilometers from the main road for about 35-45 minutes before we could reach the exact destination, (my brother's bride-to-be's house). We even walked with our barefoot and at the same time playing the flowing water on the roadside.
While the elders had long talks inside the house for the agreements and all, we were also enjoying the cold weather outside, having fun with the fogs and raindrops.
"Pamamanhikan"
- is a Filipino tradition where a man, together with his family, pays a visit to the home of his intended bride. In this occasion, his family will ask the formal blessing of the woman's family for the wedding. https://livingmy30s.com/pamamanhikan-101-all-about-filipino-tradition/Source
It is a tradition that we followed by our ancestors.
That's how I enjoy my days during rainy days.
