This Bridge we just call it as it is: The Bridge. It's so important, that it keeps connected the second city of Venezuela with the rest of the country. It has about 9 kilometers long, and crosses over a lake (Maracaibo's Lake) in order to keep our economy and social influence alive.

Before it was constructed and opened in 1962, all traffic and commerce between both sides used to be done through shuttles and low profile vessels with all the inconveniences it could mean.

This Bridge is an icon to our culture and idiosincracy, and poems, songs and books has been written around his majestuosity.

In the picture you can see a sunset, right before noon, and you can contemplate this infrastructure but also our lake, while we're getting closer to the state capital city, Maracaibo.

It's location is 10°34'13.8"N 71°34'15.5"W.
