Weekly Cooking Contest Week #4 //My Receipe, Afang Soup//
I am aware that cooking is for women but I was not told that eating should be done by them alone. Things are hard in the country but man must eat to get energy and rest assured that energy is the ability to do work and food helps to secure the energy.
Afang soup is a local dish eaten by so many Nigerians and is one the most eaten and cherish soup in Akwa Ibom State because the name is gotten from our dialect here.
Items for the soup at hand(Ingredients)
Afang
Water leaf
Palm oilm
Meat
Cowskin
priwinkle
Stock fish
Fish
Salt
Fresh pepper
Maggi
Crayfish
Preparation
Alot of people prefer their afang leaf to be shrudded and others prepare it like that. I get mine pounded to make the soup more thicker
With the help of my brother in the kitchen,the soup was prepared before time because I know that two heads is better than one.
That is when I was trying to tidy up the water leaf by shredding it and the water leaf must lesser than the afang leaf.
Stirring up the palm oil to make sure it carry the soup very well because I am told to cook better soup,alot of things to be buried to get the taste of the soup.
Tasting for salt and maggi because this is the final stage this be eaten with prepared garri(eba) or fufu,is a matter of choice and best serve when it's hot.
There you have it and the soup is very delicious and yummy and since is balanced diet, I think you should give it a try @sabbirrr.
