The SInner 3

The third season of The Sinner has also come to an end.
It did so in the usual general silence, with its ever widening niche of spectators.
The third season has perhaps put the cards on the table for good.
Who is the real "Sinner" who gives the title to the TV series?
Was he the character played by Jessica Biel in the first season?
Or maybe the one played by Carrie Coon in the second season?
No doubt it could be the one played by Matt Bomer in this third.
And instead, maybe the real "Sinner" is the one who should represent the Good, the good, that is Detective Ambrose.
Since season one, in fact, we've been seeing him chasing the bad guys mentioned above.
A chase that always culminates with the revelation of other people's misdeeds but is always accompanied by a strong empathy between the detective and the criminals he chases.
An empathy that almost ends up in intimate complicity if we consider the bond that is created with all 3 of them.
In this third season this bond takes on even deeper connotations.
The figure of Jamie Burns seems to be almost a vector to Ambrose's ascension from good to bad and the final minutes accompany the detective towards his total transformation. A blurred transformation that allows him, apparently, to be seen as a hero again, despite the fact that he feels dirty and begins to criminalize his behavior too often twisted and close to that of those he should be chasing.
It was therefore a satisfying journey that we witnessed as well, hoping that there could also be another chapter for a series that was to be "just" an 8-episode miniseries and that became a successful anthological series thanks to the vision of the authors.

Anche la terza stagione di The Sinner è arrivata al termine.
Lo ha fatto nel solito silenzio generale, con la sua nicchia di spettatori, sempre più ampia.
La terza stagione ha forse messo definitivamente le carte in tavola.
Chi è il vero "Sinner" che da il titolo alla serie tv?
Era il personaggio interpretato da Jessica Biel nella prima stagione?
O forse quello interpretato da Carrie Coon nella seconda?
Senza dubbio potrebbe esserlo quello interpretato da Matt Bomer in questa terza.
E invece, forse, il vero "Sinner" è colui che dovrebbe rappresentare il Bene, i buoni, ovvero il detective Ambrose.
Sin dalla prima stagione, infatti, lo vediamo rincorrere i "cattivi" sopra citati.
Una rincorsa che culmina sempre con la rivelazione dei misfatti altrui ma che viene sempre accompagnata da una forte empatia fra il detective e i criminali che insegue.
Un'empatia che sfocia quasi in intima complicità se consideriamo il legame che viene a crearsi con tutti e 3.
In questa terza stagione questo legame assume connotati ancora più profondi.
La figura di Jamie Burns sembra essere quasi un vettore all'ascensione di Ambrose da buono a cattivo ed i minuti finali accompagnano il detective verso la sua totale trasformazione. Una trasformazione sfumata che gli permette, apparentemente, di essere visto ancora come un eroe, nonostante egli stesso si senta oramai sporco e inizi a criminalizzare il suo comportamento troppo spesso contorto e vicino a quello di chi dovrebbe inseguire.
E' stato dunque un viaggio soddisfacente anche questo a cui abbiamo assistito, sperando ci possa essere anche un altro capitolo per una serie che doveva essere "solo" una miniserie da 8 episodi e che è diventata una serie antologica di successo grazie alla visione degli autori.
