I take serious care of my health to avoid any form of illness. That is sometimes hard with the kind of heart condition that I have to depend on drugs to pass through the stage. Although I hate any form of pills or syringe to get into my body, given my case, I don’t joke about taking drugs when it happens.

What preventive measures do I carry out to be healthy?

A misconception that people often believe is that staying healthy is costly which is not so. The little habits you exhibit every day can be enough to keep you fit. It doesn’t cost much. For one to live healthy, there is a need to introduce certain changes and improve your diet, fitness, mental health, and physical health. It is not only when you go to the gym that you are keeping fit.

Tips to avoid disease

  • Germs can not be totally avoided but by constantly abiding by these tips, you are on a good path to a healthy disease-free life.

  • Keep your environment clean. Our environment is a definition of who we are. The saying cleanliness is next to godliness is not merely saying.

  • Wash your hands often: If Covid-19 has taught us anything, it is to always wash our hands to be free from germs and viruses. The most effective way to wash one’s hands is by washing them with running water or you put your hands out when washing them. This way, the washed hands do not go back into the contaminated water.

  • Get at least 7-8 hours of sleep. Have you ever noticed how you feel fatigued the next day when you don’t sleep well? Now, this can be hard, especially for those who function best at night, having a full 8 hours of sleep on a daily basis is a luxury, but you must try. Good sleep keeps the body strong and enables all your creative cap to come on.

  • Drink enough water every day. At least a full cup immediately you wake up, 30 minutes before and after you finish eating.

  • Once in a while, take strolls. Taking a walk is part of an exercise. For someone like me who doesn’t go to the gym, strolling in the evening is when I have my own form of exercise, and doing so gives me an opportunity to clear my head of worries and appreciate nature.

  • Maintain good posture. Sit erect, and raise your shoulders up. Stop hunching all the time. It affects your back and causes back pain which can have a great effect as you advance in age.

• Rest more often. Work is good but sometimes, find time to rest.

  • Appreciate nature.

  • Be grateful for all your achievements. Sometimes, I take a journey down memory lane. I remember how far I have gone physically, mentally, and spiritually. Being grateful for your victories gives you more reason to be happy.

  • Eat healthy meals at the right time. Healthy meals that consist of a balanced diet, and fibers. Avoid taking too many oily and fried foods. Eating healthy food at the wrong time can have a negative effect on your body. There are some meals you take for breakfast, lunch, and dinner and some you don’t need to take. Take your meals early in the evening, it has more time to digest and work on your body.

  • Reduce your intake of salt. Too much salt is not good for your health.

  • If you spend much time staring at the computer or phone screen, take breaks in-between your work. Staring at the screen for too long affects the eyes and brains.

  • Brush your teeth at least once or twice every day.

  • Minimize your intake of alcohol.

  • Keep track of your finances. Money problems give way to thinking and unhealthy habits such as drinking, gambling, and falling into debt. Keep a close check on your finances, and know when to reduce your expenses.

  • Cut down on your sugar intake. Sugary snacks cause toothache and other health problems. Take more natural fruits.

  • Think positive thoughts.

Valuing our precious health is very relevance , as any body along ill health wouldn't be able to do anything. Getting through your tips to staying health , are more like being practical and I like them so much . Thank you for sharing them here.
