Contest Environment 7th: Plant Tress - Planting and taking care of trees.
Hello steemian, it nice to have you back on another contest on how to save our planet through afforestation. Before we get into my contribution in saving our planet I will like to commend @klen.civil on his persistence on reducing global warning through series of contest to education steemian on how important it is to start making difference right now to leave a better planet for the coming generation.
Planting trees is an important aspect here where I live. I have made it my mission to take care of the many trees and flower around my home. The major way I care for these trees is regular watering during the dry season. So basically that is the only thing tree plant requires from us and in return they provide us with clean oxygen which allow us to be alive.

-Trees Absorbs Carbon: This is one of the main reason why we need to plant trees because trees absorbs the carbon dioxide (C02) we produce through burning of fossil fuel. Research as show that a single tree can absorb almost 48ibs (pound) of C02 each year and can generate clean carbon which can support four (4) people to breathe.
-Protection Coastal Regions: Coastal Regions are places that are close to large water body such as oceans and seas. Planted trees around these region ensure these coastal are safe from storms and flooding. This is achieve by slowing the incoming water by reducing it speed it can be easily controlled and trees can also absorbs excess moisture from the soil and release it to the atmosphere as water vapor.
-Provides Shade: This is the main reason most people have talk to about afforestation plant trees. But it is also an important factor because the shade provide by trees help retain soil moisture which help the land remain fertile which is useful in agriculture.
-Promotes Plant and Wildlife Biodiversity: They is no doubt one of the most affected areas on our planet are the forest, making survival difficult for wildlife. With afforestation, new ecosystem will thrive. Animal and plant will flourish in a healthy ecosystem.
We cannot ignore the need for afforestation, trees play a very important role in saving our world. Trees require little from us just space and water and in return we can leave a better world for the next generation. And also we need to start reducing our fossil fuel consumption and move towards renewable energy. A little contribution from you can make a huge difference in the future so plant a tree today.
