Norms and values seem to ​​come and go for some.

Is it common or has the average person not yet discovered who he is or what he expects of himself?
Norms, values​​, and rules, unwritten or printed in black and white, fill our lives and make it difficult to see all the colours of the spectrum. Those who manage to stand still and observe, try to have an open mind, will definitely see much more than those who stubbornly continue to look through their own tunnel.
Of course, that tunnel can be safe, just like a horse wears blinders so that it reacts less nervously to the traffic around it, but conversely, it is also true that those who are in a tunnel may see a light at the end but can never see the entire horizon. To me, that would be a terrible thought. Like my friend, I prefer a peaceful environment. I am fine with playing the flower on the wall. I don't need to be the centre of attention. I prefer to watch how the rest amuse themselves or desperately try to be conspicuous with a beer in their hand to be part of the club.

Is it difficult to meet standards, values, and rules set by others? Sometimes yes, sometimes not, it just depends on whether you are aware of it and what your expectations for you are. It is not true that someone who stands on the barricades or stands up for someone who is being bullied is always equally strong, and gets a kick out of being called names. Some of these strong, and often hated heroes sit in a corner at the end of the day, dejected, crying.

Do you have to do what someone else tells you? My answer is no. How you act says everything about you, so live as much as possible according to your standards and values ​​so that you do not disgrace yourself. You are the one who is confronted with yourself 24/7. Your actions, thoughts, and feelings will count in the long run, if not immediately. It is a bit late to say on your deathbed that you regret all your actions and that you did not mean it that way. You did otherwise you would not have acted that way.

If you want a better world you should start with yourself and it isn't complicated. It is about actively acting and not only talking about a better world. That better world will not come by itself if you sit on your bed and pray that someone else will make sure that your fate changes.

September is on its way and with this month we will not only see changes in nature and our personal lives but also on Steemit and this my dear readers, is the only way to make progress and changes possible. Are you complaining in the corner or hiding in your cave? Then you should not expect others to pull your heavy cart.
