Am I the only user that finds the new features of the steemit platform exciting and fun to work with?

Yesterday, some new features were added to the steemit platform by @realmankwon and DIP team as he announced here, it looks great. I have tried testing all of them to see the output on the interface and it looks neat.

This happened to be the number one proposed feature that was suggested by the @upvu.witness team when the Steemit Development Incentive Program (DIP) came up sometimes last year.

I was curious about how these features would look like because I was following up on this development and yesterday, it took me by surprise. And the blog was like here comes the features!

So what are the new features?

They include:

➊ Change RPC node
➋ Templates and Drafts
➌ Load comments

RPC Node list

➊ Change RPC node:

Here comprises a collection of available API endpoints in the blog.

Templates and Drafts

➋ Templates and Drafts:

This feature adds some customizable header and footer features, it provides several fixed templates which you can easily load and edit to use, you can also save your draft and load function to view it later.

For instance, You could type a post and save it for future use. It could be very useful for those posting content in series, that way, you can easily check your previous edition for adjustments. It’s just like saving your data in the cloud storage.

Note that before you can achieve that, you need to include the heading/topic, otherwise, you won’t be able to save the draft.

I love the different templates, they are easy to edit and use. The table template would help me a lot in one of my monthly publications called The steemit Grandmaster.

Normally I spent 6 good hours preparing that one publication and sometimes the table scatters or cuts out some names part, most especially long names on the list, but I hope with this new feature, I can do some magic, hopefully, longer names won’t cut again.

And even if it does, please would the developing team consider this point and see if something can be done about it? You can view this post to understand what I am talking about.

Let's try these new features

To use any of the listed templates, kindly do the following:

  • Click on templates which is at the left-hand side of your monitor below the section indicated as title.

  • Click on any of the nine listed templates that fit your publication, edit the write-up or content and use.

As simple as that!

Upload media section

There is also a section that allows you to insert your media accordingly, that way, you would see the exact point you placed any of your media easily while typing.

Unlike before, if you upload a picture, it will take your cursor to the down page and you would have to go up again to where you were typing, guess what? Those days have ended.

➌ Load Comments:

This function helps users to see comments that are made under their posts, it loads comments separately from the main content.

That means you may choose not to see comments but just publications and if you want to see the comment, you can just click “load comment”.

However, I noticed that the mobile version of the steemit site is different from the web version in terms of the displayed cover pictures of publications.

Web Version

I want to believe that was what @realmankwon was talking about in his announcement yesterday...

"However, after applying it, I found a bug that caused the screen to break on mobile. I immediately fixed it and raised a Pull Request. I hope the foundation will check and apply it tomorrow!!" - Reference

Mobile version

Hopefully, this bug would be fixed very soon. But for now, enjoy the new features, and please do let me know what you think about these great features, I want to read your feedback. I am already enjoying it, please share your views. I want to read reviews for the whole of today!😁

Overall Remarks

These are great features to improve the steemit platform interface and I want to commend the developers behind this interesting innovation. These features would help both old and newbies to enjoy blogging on the platform. I am keen and anticipating the other remaining projects, I believe this would make the steemit platform a great place for blogging.

Once again, well done for your great job.
