The Role of the Various Genders

I will start by asking myself What is gender?
And to my understanding or my own words, gender simply means sex that’s male and female, boy and girl, or man and a woman.
Again, gender is just something or a word that is used to distinguish between male and female, boy and a girl etc.
again, gender included, the norms, the responsibilities and roles that make up for one being a man or a woman, a boy or a girl and also the relationship we have for each other.

This was just a brief. Now let’s come into the main agenda.

Does gender play a role in our everryday life?

In our everyday life, gender plays an important role.
I’m saying this because, like I said earlier gender describe or let me say it distinguish the difference between male and female, a boy and a girl, a man and a woman.
So gender plays an important role in our everyday lives because, there are some jobs that are mainly for men and also, there are some particular jobs which are also main for women.

In this situation, you can see the importance of gender.
I’m a Muslim or let my say, I’m my traditional teaches, women were created from men. And as we all know that, men are always the head of the house.
Men take good care of the family and no matter who you are, since you belong to the family, your responsibilities and care is been taken by the man( the head of the family).

Again, gender playing an important role in our daily lives. Just take a look at our marriages.
Is the man that will look for the woman, build a relationship with her, and all this relationship things, the man will suffer before, he will go through a lot of difficulties before getting married to this woman.
And after gotten married, all the woman responsibilities are on the man and if it happens that, they gave birth, all the children responsibilities are on the man.
In fact he becomes the head of the family. And his duties is to take good care of everyone in the family.
So I will say, we can’t do away with gender in our dally lives.
So gender plays an important role in our dally lives.

How does the role or function in your country differ from gender to gender?

In my country, the roles of the man is differ from the roles of the woman.
In my country, the man serves as the head of the family and he take care of everyone who happens to be in the family, everyone responsibilities and need are on him. Wether is money problem, someone is sick, children school fees etc.
all those problems are on him.

And that’s his duty as the man of the house ( family head ).
Moreover, in my country, is that man that will find the woman, try and build a relationship with her get money and then go and pay her bride price and after all the necessary things, the woman then becomes man wife and after all that, all the responsibilities of the woman is now the man’s duty to cater for all.

So now let’s look at the duty of a woman in the house. In my country, women are severe as house wife’s.
They responsibilities is to care of the house that’s, cook for the family, make love to the husband and reproduce and also to take care of the kids if any.
In fact, women are just to stay at home, reports anything that happens to the family or house to the husband and if it is anything, whether a problem or whatever, the husband is the one to solve that particular problem or issue.
So this is how gender differ in my country.

Is it the same for other countries?

Looking at Africa and as compared to the developed countries, it does not work like that.
There is difference between how we understand gender and how the European countries understand gender.
From the developed countries, men and women do same work that’s, there is nothing like house wife.
The woman cook sometimes and the man also Cook as well.

No one stays at home to do all the house choices.
Who ever happens to be at home cook for the family.
And how it also differ from my country is that, my country we practiced extended farming system and they practiced nuclear family system.
When you come to my country, you can found a family of 25 people.

So looking at this number alone should tell you that, always the woman will be In the house to take care of everyone, cook for everyone in the family.
But when you look at the developed countries, you can see a family of 4 people that’s the husband and the Wife with their two kids.

So the number, the woman can do whatever she’s want to do. There is no need that she should stay at home to cook.

The number is small so cooking for them will be simple.
Also, in my country, there are some jobs that are mainly for women example; washing, cooking, cleaning etc.
but in other developed countries, there is nothing like that.
There is equally balance when it comes to gender.

What about Steemit?

On steemit platform, there is nothing like that, everyone is treated equally.
There is nothing like gender in balance. There is no special treatment for men or women. There is equal treatment for everyone.

Conclusion

Gender plays an important role in our very day life and to me, we can’t do away with it.
Gender tells us who we are and also we need to appreciate that.
