The aviation industry last year announced a project called Positive Motion which consists of reducing CO2 emissions. The objective of this plan is to achieve the solution of the energy conflict that despite having begun in Europe, is already spreading to the American continent and if it continues like this, by the end of this year it will also be present in Latin America.

During the last week of last November, the airport of Seville (Spain) reported that all aircraft of the airline Air Europa, Iberia Express, Air Nostrum, Wizz Air, Ryanair and Vueling, were going to use a fuel that was produced with olive pits. The objective of using a component emanating from olives is due to the fact that, scientifically they proved that it is a key element for the route that has been traced in the decarbonization of air transport, this being the perfect guide to transform the aeronautical world into a 100% energy sector.

Although this project was going to start on December 1st, Cespa, an energy company of Spanish origin, announced that the project was going to be postponed for a month and a half because, the emission of the 300 tons of CO2 that they had planned for this project, were not yet ready and not to start with a lower amount, they preferred to wait. In view of this, at the end of the first week of January, a spokesman for the company announced that they finally have the tons to start this initiative so, on January 15, 320 flights will receive Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF).

A key fact reported by Cespa is that the 320 tons of CO2 fuel is equivalent to planting 3,500 trees. It is important that they have made this similarity because, thanks to this graph, it has been possible to better understand what can be achieved if you start using organic products and at the same time, the positive impact generated by planting this number of trees. It should be noted that, since this project was announced, the theories circulating around it refer to the fact that the aeronautical industry will revolutionize the energy sector and the European continent will be a pioneer in sustainable mobility.

Knowing more about this new fuel we can mention that it is produced in the Energy Park, located in La Rábida of the Andalusian sector of Huelva (Spain). Likewise, vegetable residues and olive pits were used for the creation of this fuel, this being the first fuel that is developed with natural ingredients. For its part, the company Cespa also reported that the green fuel is developed within the strategic framework of sustainable mobility and based on this first emission, the reduction of 55% of CO2 will begin and, the long-term goal is to reach 0% CO2 in the movable context by 2050. If this is achieved, Spain would be the inspiration country in the fight being carried out to prevent climate change from continuing to advance.
