Greetings dear friends,
With great joy in my heart today, I welcome you all specially to my blog. It's the third week of the steemit engagement challenge and I'm so happy to be part of a participant in this week's challenge.

In this third week, we are looking at a unique topic that says "Kindness that changed my life". Indeed in one way or another, we have seen some acts that have impacted greatly our lives and this has changed our life completely. In today's contest, I will be answering the questions below to explain this type of kindness that changed my life for the better.

What was the act of kindness that impacted your life? Describe the situation

The story of my success in life will never be complete without mentioning my mother-in-Christ sister Mbah. Immediately after secondary school, I was seeking admission into the university but my parents had no money at that point to sponsor me.

When I came in contact with Sister Mbah, she advised that I start up a mini business and raise a little money for myself since I'm computer literate. I told her I don't have the money for that, she advised me to ask my parents but they said that also don't have money.

After about a month of our discussion, I have already loose hope in everything but she called me on a faithful day and presented me with a set of computers and a printer as well as a generator to kick start my cyber cafe work. I couldn't believe what I saw.

The joy in me that day was overwhelming and that changed my life to this day. Through the cyber cafe, I was able to raise money to sponsor myself in school and I also got some basic knowledge about office work which also helped in school as an undergraduate and it is still helping me today because as an engaged staff, I'm currently taking practical for Business Education department.

What were the emotions you were feeling at that time?

mine.PNG

I felt so excited and happy. I never believed that such kindness still exists. What this woman bought for me at that moment was worth almost NGN 80,000 and at that time that money was indeed a very huge amount. It was equivalent to 2 months' salary for my father.

I never understood how to appreciate her because the joy was too much. I couldn't believe that at that point I will be a proud owner of such a property. I felt that sister Mbah has proven that people can go the extra mile to help those they care for or those in need for the betterment of their futures.

How did that act impact you? (Financially, emotionally, etc.)

mine.PNG

That act of kindness was a new era and a new turn in my life. It impacted my life financially and emotionally. I said this because that act made me raise money after a year and a half which I used to further my education also, it went a long way to impact me emotionally as it give me a reason to always help anyone in need.

The kindness, I experienced turned my life completely around. It helped me with my finances and also gave me the sense to see the need to help those who want help. I have also helped others in need because of the act of kindness I got.

mine.PNG

What are the lessons you learned from that incident? Did it change your perspective on kindness and the way you treat others?

mine.PNG

I learned a lot from that single act of kindness. I never knew that someone can help me without any strings attached. That alone taught me that in helping people you need not have anything in common.

Kindness should be something everyone in life should be associated with. The life you touch today may be the one to help you tomorrow so continue doing good and ensure you never stop doing good to others.

Yes, this act has changed a lot about me. The way I see and associate with people has changed because of this single act of kindness. I now know that kindness shouldn't be for only your family members but for every human.

Did you manage to pass it forward by showing kindness to others? How?

mine.PNG

Yes, I have been able to pass this kindness over by showing it to others in my little way. I have always supported those in need around me and also teach people how they can stand and become somebody just as I'm today.

On certain occasions, I met a young man in school who had not paid his school fees and it was almost the period of exams. He came to me and asked if he could get any help so that he will in turn ask others and see if he can raise the money before the exams.

I felt pity for him and then I decided to take the burden on myself. The money is supposed to be NGN 35,000. I gave NGN 15,000 because that was what I could afford at the moment then I went ahead to discuss with my classmates about the situation. Since most of them knew the guy they all offered to help.

25 people came out and contributed NGN 1,000 each to support the young man and at the end, he had about NGN 5,000 extra. Till this moment, the young man calls to appreciate me for my effort in making it possible for him to continue his education.

Conclusion

Kindness is a virtue that must be associated with everyone. I have experienced this act before and I have also extended it to others. As I never forget this act of kindness sister Mbah showed me, I'm certain those I have touched in my little way also keep remembering in their prayers as well. I want to finally invite @radjasalman, @pelon53, @graceleon, @harferri, @heriadi, @josepha, and @steemdoctor1 to join the contest if they have not entered it.

Your post is very well presented. I saw your post and realized that you started the business inspired by your sister's words. It benefited you a lot. So we all have a purpose in life. So if we help people, we will not suffer any loss, we will get prayers. So we should all help people. So good luck to you.

greetings friend @simonnwigwe
To be honest, my friend, I find your post to be a good example of generosity. Which I can use in my life on earth.

I understand how helpless people feel when they are in financial trouble. But in those situations when your sister stood by your side in your danger you felt so relieved.

Your sister is indeed a good person without doubt.

I really liked your presentation. I wish you good luck for the competition.
