Contest Environment 9th : Environmental Hygiene - MAINTAINING A CLEAN ENVIRONMENT

On my entry to the contest, i would be giving you insight as to activities i carry out daily to ensure environmental hygiene by maintaining a clean environment.

I live off a major road called Atiku Abubakar Avenue in a rural settlement and i ensure that my environment is prim and tidy at all times.

Global warming has continously been an hazard to our natural biome and there is need at all levels for each and every individual to protect his/her environment.

Activities i indulge in to keep my environment clean includes:

Sweeping compartments within the home which includes; the rooms, kitchen, varenda, storage and also the external part of the compound to keep it clean.

As you can see, my compound looks well swept and neat.

I use a rod brush to sweep the insides, then a broom for outside the compound, thereafter disposing the debris inside in a waste basket.

For the trash outside there is another bin for proper waste disposal.

After sweeping, i mop the floor with detergent and disinfectant.

These are my daily routine each day, it is important that i clean my environment because waste and littered materials such as pure water nylon, biscuit wraps, other nylons & plastic materials take an eternity to break down completely, thereby, polluting the environment by way of generating the Green house gases which in turn finds its way into the atmosphere contributing to global warming.
