This my entry into the contest on sustainable food in protecting the environment against global warming.

Hi everyone, i am @sikan-eyen and as i would always say, i am passionate about my environment.

SUSTAINABLE FOOD FOR EVERYONE

When sustainable is mentioned, what should come to mind first is healthy food for everyone.

Sustainable food is a process by which healthy & safe food is being provided for people and at the same time, a sustainable environment is being created.

It involves all agricultural process which in one way or the other affects our ecosystem in which we dwell.

Agricultural practices used by our farmers needs to be looked into and monitored;

Practices such as deforestation, planting of natural seeds and crops free from artificial ripeners, avoiding hazardous pesticide and chemicals, and importantly ensuring proper production, packaging and distribution of agricultural produce.

Because increased production is a plus to the Environmental benefits.

Then as individuals there are things & habits e could adopt to promote sustainable food for the environment.
A very important point is ~~Food Wastage~~, it is very common in many homes. This needs to be curtailed.

Another thing that we as individuals could do is growing fruits and veggies around us.

Also, lets be contented with food, fruits that are in season. Large request of these produce which are out of season lure our farmers to go into artificial ripening with growth promoters.

We all should should eat our local foods which are grown and obtainable in our environs.

All these doesn't stop at crops, livestock stock production is inclusive as animals have the largest carbon footprint.

Personally, i sustain food by preserving the soil, in my abode, i have planted some crops that have been beneficial as seen in the photos posted.
I grow vegetables of various kind, spices and the cassava plant.
I try as much as possible to reduce food wastage in my home.

All these i do in protecting the environment against GLOBAL WARMING.
