Contest Environment 3rd: Save The World - Cleaning the Conservation Park and Planting Trees

Good afternoon friends in this wonderful community. May we all always share goodness and do activities that are beneficial for the earth and a better life.

This is my first post in the betterlife community. I was interested in making a post in this community after reading the contest announcement posted by @klen.civil about environmental competition to save the world.

I also happen to be an environmental activist who is often involved in activities that are beneficial for a better earth. I believe that through our care and engagement with the environment, a better and more sustainable environment will be created.

Along with the drastic increase in the human population in the world, on the other hand it creates problems for human life on earth. This increase creates an imbalance between the needs that must be met with natural resources and available land, thus giving rise to various social and environmental problems. The problems vary. Starting from air pollution, environmental pollution, increasing plastic waste. Or climate change.

Then the question is. What efforts should we make to solve this problem? Efforts to create green open spaces and continue to plant trees are one example.

Like last Sunday. We are the Steem-Environment team in collaboration with the Jipala Nature Lovers Student Activity Unit, IAIN Lhokseumawe. Doing mutual cooperation in his conservation park. We do this activity as a form of concern for the environment and create new green open spaces. Because an area must be equipped with several things to be livable, one of which is green open space. Green Open Space is an area or land within a city/region/region whose utilization is open. This is a location where plants grow between buildings and buildings.

With 10 members. we clean it together. After cleaning and making a broken fence. We continue by planting trees. The rule is that everyone has to plant one tree and take care of it until it grows and grows.

This rule in our opinion is the most effective thing to ensure the tree grows. This is also to ensure responsibility for something we do.

Then I tried to learn the benefits of planting trees for the earth. In my opinion, there are at least five important benefits for human life and other living things.

First, trees produce oxygen (O2) during the day. This oxygen is the source of life, an essential compound element needed by humans and animals in the process of respiration, when breathing. Lack of oxygen supply alone, humans and animals already suffer from pain and shortness of breath. Moreover, without oxygen at all, humans and animals cannot carry out their life processes.

In a day each tree produces an average of 1.2 kg of oxygen. However, especially for the Trembesi tree (Ki Rain), it can produce 78 kg of oxygen per day. While in a day the average human breathes oxygen as much as 0.5 kg. You can imagine in a day, a tree can supply oxygen or support three people.

Second, trees absorb carbon dioxide and other toxic gases during the day. This carbon dioxide is produced by living things, as well as the industrial world and motor vehicles through the smoke from combustion. Carbon dioxide is a compound element that has a major contribution to the global environmental crisis and damage.

Third, tree roots absorb rainwater that enters the soil, binds groundwater, and prevents water from overflowing into floods during the rainy season. The water bound by these trees contributes greatly to the emergence of springs or at least maintains the stability of water discharge in groundwater springs and rivers.

Fourth, trees produce flowers, fruit, leaves, stems, wood, roots and seeds that can be utilized by humans and animals. Apart from being a source of food and building materials for houses, it is also a basic ingredient for medicines. It goes back to what tree we plant. In principle, every tree is useful.

And the five trees become houses, shelter and shelter, food sources, various organisms, such as birds, butterflies, bees, caterpillars and other small organisms that are invisible to the naked eye.

We hope that this green open space and the trees we plant will be useful to reduce the increasing pollution. In addition, it can increase the production of oxygen in the air. Provides coolness and can reduce excess heat so that an area still feels beautiful and comfortable.
