Save The World - Clearing of gutters in my surrounding.

how have you all been doing? Today I wish to participate in this contest by @irawandedy that talk about saving the world by making sure our surrounding is clean and beautiful. This is the second time am participating in this contest and I hope to participate in more soon.

What have you done in an effort to save the earth?

In other to save the world, I have done so many things and I will be talking about how I cleaned the gutter.

In other to save the world and prevent the accumulation of mosquitoes, I took a rake and began to dip it inside the gutter so that I will be able to bring out all the dirty things. In my area in Portharcourt, Nigeria, keeping the gutters clean ebetry Thursday morning before 10am is very mandatory to all landlords and shop owners.

How do you do it

I went to the chemist shop near our shop and I borrowed their rake because we don't have a rake or shovel of our home. As soon as one of the nurses gave ytje rake, I became very excited.

My friend came and we gist for a while as I was clearing the gutter. The gutter was filled with lots of dirt's and refused and I also noticed that lots of sands are in the deeper part of the gutter, removing those numerous sands from the gutter is a work for another day.

I was happy the moment my friend came to where I was cleaning the gutters with his phone, I quickly told him to take pictures of me as I was doing the clean up.

I will dip the rake inside inside the gutter and grab our numerous refuse like biscuits sachet, can drinks, plastic drinks and so many others.

I carried out this clean up near the road and I was doing it with joy, I always do lot of things that adds to the cleanliness of my environment.

As soon as I was done cleaning the gutters, I took the rake to a nearby tap so that I can wash the rake and return it back to the owners. The process of cleaning the gutter was very quick and fast.

What is the form of attention from the government and the community around you?

The government has been trying their best to make sure all the gutters are well clean and maintained. Just recently a member of the environmental committee came to our salon and presented a paper to give to the owner of the salon which is my main boss.

I thanked him and read what was written in the paper and I discovered that for the betterment of the financial status for the committee each industry owners will start paying an amount of NGN2000 monthly, landlords of houses will start paying NGN1500 monthly while owners of shops will start paying a total amount of NGN1000.
