Hello guys how are you all doing I hope all is well I wish you all a happy new year welcome to this weeks edition of "Potentials of Your village" organized by @sofian88 in the steem for betterlife community. I really appreciate him
because he has really contributed alot to this community.

In my post today I will be sharing with you guys some of the potentials of my village and what it has to offer for the development of the state and the nation at large.

SHARE WITH US JUST ONE POTENTIAL THAT EXISTS IN YOUR VILLAGE.

The one potential that is in our village and has really contributed alot to the entire community and the nation at large is pig farming, pig farming is one of the major business in our village that almost every body in our community owns a pig farm and people from different part of the state buy pigs from our community.

And pig farming like other kinds of farming has really help farmers a lot and also really caters for their financial needs.

EXPLAIN THE ORIGIN, WHY YOU CONSIDER THIS AS A POTENTIAL.

Pig farming which is a lucrative type of farming in our country Nigeria that farmers used in making huge amount of money 💰. The origin of pig farming in our community dated right from the time of our four father's, there were they ones that started raising and caring for pigs by putting them in a place called sty or pigsty in other to sell them and make profit.

STY OR PIGSTY

This is also known as a small scale ⚖️ enclosure that is always outdoors which are used for raising domestic pigs as livestocks.

Why I consider pig farming as a major potential in our village is that despite the muddy, dirty and smelling environment that those pigs are kept, it serves as a good source of income for pig farmers and for those practicing large scale pig farming there gets a contract of supplying pigs to other state and with that you can imagine how much money they make.

And for those raising those pigs then at the same time using the mature ones and serving them as pork in a small road side bar to the public. It really contribute a lot to the community seeing how industrious pig farming is and the number of people who have engaged themselves in has really reduce the criminal rate in our community which that alone is a very big contribution to the nation at large.

CONCLUSION

Pig farming in our community really served as a good potential in our village and to the state because it serves as means of employment to the youth for those buying them to prepare Polk to be sold to the public in bars and also great a source of livelihood to farmers.
