There is what to need beyond food, clothing and shelter though those are essentials. Human beings has feelings as well, aside material things.

Focus on improving your flaws, your weakness, lapses should be improved not the opposite. Do not see always 99.99% flaws of your spouse, ignore some attitude for the sake of peace. What you want to see in your spouse is what you will see, if you want to see strength, power, peace and harmony, it is what you will definitely see.
