"My Vision and Mission on the Steemit Platform”
Hi there
Vision gets the dream started, but without action, it's merely a dream.
I view vision from the biblical angle as the art of seeing what is invisible to others, just like faith; faith is the substance of things not seen and evidence of things hoped for.
Life is a journey, and everyone is meant to have a vision in life, although some people just move vision less and mission less. Without a vision and mission about a particular thing, it could be hard to achieve a goal.
This platform was introduced to me in the year 2020. I didn't take it seriously because I thought I had no passion for writing, so I joined regardless. The journey was without a vision or mission. I joined because of the incentives I was told about that could come from the platform.
I tarried with Steemit for a year plus with nothing good to show for because I lacked vision and mission. I was not satisfied until I powered down due to some health issues.
My return ten months ago to this platform was where my journey started. I didn't just return to Steemit; I returned with a vision mind and a mission mind to handle Steemit, and I am glad I'm doing it.
Before my return, I tried to picture and understand my goals, my gains, and my impact. My mission was to understand what I could do to help this platform grow. I asked myself, "What can I also contribute to the growth of this platform?" How can others benefit from me?
It was now clear to me that I have a vision, which is to strike a certain SP in my wallet after 4-5 months of my return, engage vigorously in so many activities, become a moderator in a community, and host contests for others to benefit from. Because I had a clear understanding of my mission, I was able to set my vision, and it worked.
After mission comes vision for me, and afterwards, planning follows. My plans were to put in more time than on my first journey. I refused to be discouraged because I knew where I was going and I stayed consistent.
I didn't stop at that; I read some users blogs and also chatted with some to know how they were able to achieve what they had; today they serve as my mentors. I love being successful in everything I do, and so Steemit wouldn't be an exception.
I didn't allow anything or someone to dictate my vision. When I had challenges last year about house rent, I didn't let it dictate my vision; I pushed it to the side and got focused.
I envision my dream every day by creating pictures of what being a moderator on this platform would be like, hosting a contest, and how one day being a community curator would be.
In getting my targeted amount of SP, I powered up every week to ensure growth. It gave me joy that after my weekly struggle, something drops into my wallet for power-up, and with this, I am helping the platform grow in my own little way.
To resolve some obstacles faced in realizing my vision;
🔹First, identify the obstacle. I try to find out what these obstacles are and their causes. With this clarity, I could move on to understanding the next, which is...
🔹Re-positioning, re-planning, and re-building. This simply means I'm changing my mindset about a particular plan I had previously because of the obstacle there.
🔹 This time, I could develop a new plan and ask questions where necessary since I have mentors, and I can call on them many times, and they answer me. I kept planning until I got it right.
🔹The success of others gives me joy. I celebrate others if I want to be celebrated. When I see people celebrate their dolphin success, it gives me joy, and by celebrating with them, I show it through my awesome comments.
Yesterday, I celebrated a steemian who made it to her first dolphin, and I aspired so much to be celebrated too. By celebrating others, mine would come faster; that is nature.
I am where I am today because my return to Steemit was well prepared. I came back with a vision, and here I am achieving it in a short while. I planned, but God executed.
