Problem tree analysis is one of the PRA methods and techniques for tracing the "cause of the problem", by looking at the cause and effect. This step needs to be applied in the village to get answers to problems.

This method is quite flexible.
Through this method, people involved in solving a problem can see the real cause, which may not be visible if the problem is only seen in passing.

The Problem Tree Analysis method should involve local people who know and feel deeply about the problem at hand.

STEPS TO FACILITATION

  • Discuss with the community what problems you want to solve. Determine the main problem, which the community thinks needs to be solved. Problems can be drawn from the 18 Village SDGs Goals.
  • The main problem to be solved is written on the Metaplan card, then pasted on the floor or wall like a tree trunk.
  • Starting from the stem, discuss the causes.
  • From each cause that arises, ask again 'why is that? 'what is the cause?' To simplify the way of thinking, and check that nothing has been forgotten, assume that every problem is the result
  • Of other conditions – Ask 'This condition is the result of what?'
  • The roots are discussed in depth so that finally the last problem in one root will be reversed and become an activity or follow-up plan
  • These steps ultimately give rise to a complete and detailed picture - with the root represented by the cause of the problem, and the effect of the problem.
  • After the drawing is complete, ask the best way to solve the problems that arise.
  • When it is complete, invite the community (without exception) to look at the whole problem at the root of the main problem.
  • Also ask for comments, is there a cause that appears several times even in another 'root'?
  • From all the information that emerges, it is shown what must be done to address the root problems so that the above effects do not occur.
  • If the above results still occur, it means that there are still problems that need to be addressed.
  • Due to the limitations, it is better if you finish drawing the Problem Tree, the problems that arise are prioritized so that the most important ones can be addressed first.
  • The team in charge of the process recorder is tasked with documenting all the results of the discussion.

CONCLUSION FROM TREE ANALYSIS;

The village will get all the answers to the problems that have occurred so far when the government opens the widest possible space for the community to discuss in order to get real problems that can be solved together for the welfare of the community itself.

The village also easily annually makes a sustainable plan in accordance with the government's policy on sustainable development. The village will get answers according to the need to achieve a more advanced and independent village
