At this meeting, I again participated in the contest organized by this community for season-5 and week-2 with the topic of discussion: Natural Disaster In My Place.

Natural Disaster In My Village

Natural disasters are something that happens on the surface of the earth that is rare and causes something bad, And things that happen sometimes are due to indecent human attitudes or attitudes towards their environment, but sometimes the occurrence of natural disasters is never imagined in a person - such as the occurrence of natural disasters that once shocked the world that occurred in Aceh last year (2004), namely: Tsunami - Aceh. And even happened in several other countries.
We need to underline that this happened by the will of the almighty - as a rebuke or warning to human beings who are negligent with disobedience or evil on the surface of the earth.

However, the natural disasters that we will discuss here are natural disasters that occur due to human actions themselves, and this of course leads to flash floods or fires,
In that case, because I am in an area that often floods - then I will also discuss about this.

North Aceh is prone to flooding every year, There are several areas in this district that often experience natural disasters like this so that those around the place are used to what is called flooding.
For example, in my hometown, I live in the district of Syamtalira Aron, North Aceh.

the condition of my house when the flood hit

there are several areas of north aceh that flood every year, such as the city of Lhoksukon, large land areas, mature coolies, paya bakong and the death of Syamtalira aron which is where I currently live.

Why is that.
Because around this area there are rivers with disproportionate quality embankments - so that water often overflows ashore.
And this area is also close to the mountainous area.

1. Areas affected?

Areas affected by flooding or in other words are the impact of flooding: A small number of villages are in the Syamtalira Aron sub-district, and most of the villages are in the Tanah Pasir sub-district.

This incident occurred in the sub-district of Syamtalira Aron - but the current of the water flowing inland was low so that it remembered several days around the Tanah Pasir sub-district.

2. How do they cause destruction?

The flood effect is a loss experienced by the community.
Air currents that enter people's homes will damage the facilities in their homes, and strong air strikes will damage roads - sometimes air strikes that often damage people's houses and even collapse.

Of course, events like this (floods) hampered various community activities, obstructed traffic, disrupted the economy, schools were also forced to stop for some time, and caused the destruction of various livestock (pets) of the community. This is very detrimental and a real sorrow for all communities.

3. How are people affected?

Floods of course greatly affect the community's economic activities, teaching and learning activities, until the impact of this flood will affect the community who are having a party at their house on that day, and this has happened in our village.

Then the negative impact or effect of flooding can also cause various diseases for children - such as itching, fever, and so on. Because of the influence of unclean air that stagnates in his house - and even an atmosphere like this will cause mosquito seeds that are harmful to human health.

1. The magnitude of the cause.
   The cause of frequent flooding around North Aceh is due to human actions themselves which damage the nature conservation in the mountains, meaning that there are parties who cut down many large trees in the mountains. Actually these trees need to be protected in order to strengthen the mountains, it doesn't happen, the fort is knocked out.

The cause of flooding is also due to human actions that often throw away samples, even piling garbage into river or irrigation areas - to a large collision and the air will overflow on land.

The cause of the flood is also due to the responsibility of the river that is not sturdy and even the river embankment that is not in accordance with the size of the river, meaning that the embankment is too low so it is very easy for the air to overflow into the flat which often results in flash floods around where I live.

1. Is there a warning. previously from the Government?
   Of course, the government has already passed laws on forest protection, and the government has also banned people from throwing garbage - let alone piling garbage in rivers or irrigation.

The government also always reminds its citizens to be enthusiastic or against banjir bandang. Even the government always invites through the government apparatus - to keep and always protect the environment in order to maintain or avoid something bad from happening.

6. What can you do in such a situation?

In an emergency situation I'm always ready to help what I can help, because I'm a woman I can only clean in the yard, and also the houses of neighbors who need my help.
