Today I am very happy to have the opportunity to take part in this very interesting contest, Street Photography Contest : Traditional Market. I strongly support the existence of this traditional market, because it makes it easy for people like me to fulfill all their daily needs without having to travel long distances. These markets are also able to improve the people's economy there, although in rural areas this market is unique and has goods that cannot necessarily be found in other areas, especially in big cities.

Here are some traditional markets that I have visited to shop for my various needs. Hopefully this market will continue to prosper and transform into a better traditional market without having to reduce the uniqueness of the traditional market itself.

Simpang Rangkaya Traditional Market

Simpang Rangkaya traditional market is located in Near Rangkaya, Kec. Tanah Luas, North Aceh Regency, Aceh 24376 is a traditional market which is only 7 km from my house and about 10 minutes from my house. The Simpang Rangkaya market is divided into 3 stalls; dry stalls, vegetable stalls and fish stalls.

These dry goods have quite complete items and all kinds of vegetables and spices, we can even find people selling cucumbers, pumpkins, longans, various types of bananas, and young and ripe jackfruit, even cake ingredients. We will find this stall first before we will find the vegetable and fish market stall.

This provides a lot of spices that are very complete and of course at a low price. The chili offered is also very complete, starting from red chili, cayenne pepper, green chili, tomato, turmeric, galangal, ginger, pepper, coriander, bay leaf and also Pliek U.

Vegetable stall

Still one area, this is the condition of the Simpang Rangkaya vegetable market at night. Still looks crowded and open until midnight. I can say that it's still cheap here because most of the vegetables and goods are still obtained from local residents and are located in front of the Exxon Mobile Gas company. This market is one of my favorite markets. Because whenever I shop there (morning, afternoon, evening) they are always open and ready with fresh vegetables.

Look at the vegetables that are still being sold, they are still very fresh even at night, this is because local farmers are the main suppliers. Here, all kinds of kitchen ingredients are sold, which are more complete than stalls that sell only spices.

Tomatoes, onions, spices, dried chilies, potatoes and carrots are goods imported from Medan and Bener Meriah. However, the current price is quite stable from the post-Eid price yesterday. I can present to you all the price lists of goods here from 3 days ago which are in 2 places;

All of these leafy vegetables are obtained from local farmers and even from my village. This market is never empty of buyers because it is in front of the road and is in a strategic place.

The Simpang Rangkaya fish market is a market that is one of the big fish markets in my area, Syamtalira Aron. This market usually provides types of fish that are commonly consumed by the community and it is very rare to find large and unique types of fish. I only buy fish in this market when my Muge Eungkot has passed in front of the house. The price of the type of fish here varies every day, but I tend to buy the same type of fish here and the price also varies according to the rarity of the type of fish.

This is the price equivalent to what they are selling, there are lots of stalls here but they are still filled with buyers. This can improve the economy of the fishermen well.

Here are 5 photos of the market with all its uniqueness that I can show you all, this is not just an ordinary traditional market but this is the wheel of the economy of the people who live there, where there is a transaction there is life. We must be able to advance the economy in our own region and prosper the farmers and support a healthy life because it is guaranteed that goods and vegetables obtained from local farmers will be better.
