When talking about Nubia, the country of Nubia, located in southern Egypt, may first come to mind, but Tunisians often think of that musical performance that was presented at the Carthage Theater in the summer of 1991, which took the name “Nuba” or “Tunisian Nubia”.

It was a beautiful day when I accompanied the family to attend a Nuba show under the title “Raboukh”, which is a musical tour that combines traditional and contemporary. Music preserves the traditional character of Nuba, word and melody, and presents the new at the level of stringed instruments, especially the use of violins, guitars, bass and drums, instruments that are rhythmically resonant with the “provider.” The master of the show and its foundation.

In the rhythm of the harmony between the Sufi songs and the rhythms that draw from the music of the world, the show created a scene called the band and the celebration, and the bodies of the audience received to dance according to the throats that chanted “Sidi Ali Azzouz”, “Sidi Abdel Qader”, “Manoubiya” and “Sidi Ali Bin Salem", and other songs that draw from the roots of Tunisian Sufi history.

In succession, the show started with a clear political message, where at first a girl goes up on stage in the traditional dress "safari", which is a white cover that wraps the entire body except for the face, and then, as soon as a popular singing song starts, she takes it off and starts dancing. This scene reminds Tunisians of a famous shot of the country's first president, Habib Bourguiba, when he removed the "safari" of a woman during one of his field visits, while apparently a call for women's liberation by fighting the headscarf, as the tyrannical state had practiced for decades.

On the run, the audience hit their date with joy, a large audience came to enjoy his Tunisian music, rhythm and word, music from the Tunisian heritage that shook off the dust of oblivion to become a major cultural material in festivals working to renew it by musicians who were passionate about renewal and reviving forgotten songs, so “Raboukh” was a title for joy and dance and Tunisian music.
