Providing Nutritious Food for the Elderly of Rheng Bluek Village from Remote Area Program [Public Health]

Rheng Bluek is one of the villages in the administrative area of ​​Meurah Mulia Sub-district, North Aceh Regency and is one of the villages that prioritizes providing nutritious food for both the elderly and for infants and pregnant women in the current remote area program in Indonesia. A few days ago, I coordinated with the health office based in Pukesmas regarding the provision of nutritious food to be implemented immediately. And my team with the Public Health Center will follow up on this today as of May 28, 2022 or 1 pm to 4 pm.

The target of providing nutritious food this time is for the elderly in the village with a total of 40 people. The provision of this nutritious food package is sourced from the village fund or from remote areas in Indonesia, amounting to 20,000,000 IDR or the equivalent of 1,370 USD for 6 months.

There are several factors for providing nutritious food for the elderly in Rheng Bluek Village, Meurah Mulia District, North Aceh Regency, prioritized in the remote area program in Indonesia, as follows:

• According to survey data in 2021 from village assistants, there is a poverty rate below the average
• The average age of the Rheng Bluek community is over 45 years old
• Village community income belonging to the elderly is below 300,000 IDR or equivalent to 20 USD
• Lack of nutritional intake for the elderly is based on the income of people belonging to the elderly.

Meanwhile, the actions or solutions from us who served as village assistants in the Meurah Mulia sub-district with the health office which is the full coordination line for this case have initiated various actions, namely as follows:

• January 2022, the survey on prospective recipients of nutritious food has been completed with a target of receiving 40 elderly people.
• February 2022 budget planning for 6 months towards providing nutritious food for the elderly has been completed for 20,000,000 IDR or equivalent to 1,370 USD.
• The first implementation was in March and at this point it has been happening for three months to date with once a week.
• Implementation of this feeding will continue until August 2022.

As I said above, the provision of nutritious food for the elderly in Rheng Bluek Village is a remote area program in Indonesia in helping the community to maintain healthy eating because this village has data showing that the highest number of elderly people is in Meurah Mulia District from other villages.

For your information, this month and the third week of May 2022, the elderly who received a nutritious food package this time were given in the form of fruits that have various vitamins. This was done because last week the elderly had received a nutritious food package in the form of 1 kg of beef.

And for next week the elderly will also be given a nutritious meal package in the form of meat and eggs. This is in accordance with the BoQ that has been designed by the health team and the work team for Indonesia's disadvantaged regions.

That is the activity of me and my work team today in providing nutritious food for the elderly in Rheng Bluek Village, Meurah Mulia District, North Aceh Regency.
