Good day lovely Steemians, it's another beautiful day to write to you about "The Latest Trends In My Locality".

But family, I don't know this day I have developed more passion for writing, I feel excited doing it and I think it's because there are some amazing people like you reading it.

Thank you all, and also thank you ma @goodybest for bringing up this contest.

Just write about the latest trend (s) in your locality, it could be related to Politics, Economics, Religious, Fashion, or anything else. Don't limit yourself and your creativity, just observe, think, and then write.

In this part of the world (Nigeria to be precise) the whole nation is faced with a similar situation or challenge economically and politically but in Rivers State (that's the state I reside) the government is currently working on a project which has been a major trend all over the state.

Road construction and expansion (widening of the roads)

Since early 2023 until now the government of Rivers State has been working on this project of construction and repairing of the major roads in the state and widening some others.

This project has led to the demolishing of some buildings, warehouses, etc. The state government is Keen to get the project done. One of the roads they are focusing more on is the one that leads to the governor's hometown. The Port Harcourt- Eleme Road and that's where I took all the pictures I posted from.

project aims to beautify the state and also enhance good road transportation. But due to this project, many people have lost their goods, families have lost their homes and some businesses can't get customers because the road is blocked. And I know some people might get depressed due to their loss.

In conclusion, I pray this should not lead to loss of lives due to the demolition of the buildings and also the traffic on the road now because of the ongoing construction. Let the people of Rivers State live safely this season.
