Greetings to you and welcome to my post today. In this post I have discussed about gender in my everyday life and that of my country Nigeria. All thanks to STEEM FOR BETTERLIFE Community for organizing such a wounderful contest. Let's look at all what I have discussed....

Does gender play a role in our everyday life?

Yes it does. I came from a family that is mixed up with both male and female where some of the things that are done by the male cannot be done by the female because of the gender role. Gender roles are set to be social constructs that was developed over time and are not based on natural human behavior which has today based on human behavior. This is simply because gender roles transformed as a way to organize the tasks that are been done in early days of human society.

Still on the matter on how gender play a role in our everyday life. The role of gender is something that begins in the family, neighborhood, worship center (church and mosque), workplace, school and gathering center and several others.

In some family, gender play a role in our everyday life with the type of tasks that we do in our family. 98% of every family in the world it's the responsibility of the female gender to be incharge of the Kitchen, going to the market and assisting their mothers with domestic works, whereas the male gender are incharge of few domestic works most especially those that has to do with using of physical and mental power to accomplish. Looking at this we can see how gender has play a role in our family.

Furthermore, gender also play a role in our worships center, schools and workplace whereby the male gender are been separated from the female gender. In school when it's time for assembly ground, all the female ones stands separate from the male ones which is equally the same thing that is applicable to our various worship center like church and mosque, where the females ones are seated separate from the male ones.

In workplace female gender are been treated and handle in a soft manner as against the male gender. Finally, in our everyday life gender play a roles in such a way that both male gender and female gender cannot be allow to enter one motorcycle (machine) if the both aren't husband and wife which is highly forbidden in some tribes and religion.

How does the role or function in your country differ from gender to gender?

In my country which is Nigeria gender role function in several ways that differentiate the male gender from the female gender. However, there is no general role in Nigeria that stipulated that the male gender should be different from the female gender apart form our dressing code.

In Nigeria, gender role is function base on societal and religious beliefs. Like in the northern part of Nigeria which is highly dominated by the Muslims their key gender roles is that a male and female can't be seated on the same motorcycle and also a male and female most be separated from each other when their are in schools and several others role.

In the southern, eastern and western part of Nigeria they also have their gender role that tells how the female gender should greet, act etc when they are in the midst of the male gender. As I have earlier said above, female are been treated special with soft work as oppose to the male gender both in offices and schools.

Finally, to this in Nigeria it's not right for the male gender to put on the clothes or dresses of the female gender. In Nigeria, haircut are meant for the male gender whereas as fixing of hair, nails and wearing of skirt etc are meant to be put on by the female gender.

Is it the same for other countries?

The truth is that I haven't gone out to other countries to really know if the gender role that is in Nigeria is the same with other countries. What I can say that it's the same with other countries is the gender role that are religious that is the same with other countries.

Also, I believe that the gender role in school and workplace is the same for other countries.

What about Steemit?

In Steemit there is no gender role. Everyone both male and female are treated the same apart from the SteemWomen Club that is meant for the female gender.

Apart from the affomentioned community there is no gender inequality in Steemit since there is no special position that is meant for the female gender or male gender. This is all I can say for know friend. I sincerely appreciate your time here my friend.
