MY GRAPHIC DESIGN JOURNEY
Hey there, hope you all are good. I just want to share my graphic design journey with you guys as I set out on the creative path. I encourage you to use some minutes of your time to explore my experiences, difficulties, and achievements in the field of design.
I always define graphics as thinking made visual. Throughout my high school years, I always had a curiosity about storytelling and sending messages in a more comprehensive way, but later on, I came to realize that visual storytelling and the visual capability to evoke feelings and send messages serve as the beginning of my design journey. With the desire, I dived into the world of design, whereby I will be creating visually compelling images that help accomplish their purpose and captivate viewers.
DIFFICULTIES
As a passionate designer, I later came to realize that thinking as a designer doesn’t only solve problems; bringing your thoughts into reality does. One way of accomplishing this was by mastering design software (Adobe Apps). As a beginner, mastering that software was complex and overwhelming, but with time, Adobe's software like Illustrator, Photoshop, Adobe After Effects, and Adobe InDesign became simple to play around with. Criticism and rejection can be disheartening, but my boss helped me understand that learning to accept construction feedback gracefully and using it are the basic things that will improve and escalate my design growth.
MY AREA OF EXPERTISE
After exploring a lot of design fields, I came to love the field of branding and identity design, which I chose as my area of specialty. I always strive to create visual identities that capture the spirit and personality of a company or organization. To make a company's vision stand out visually, I use logo design, typography, flyers, and color theory to make it visually appealing.
ACHIEVEMENTS
Every day, I keep telling myself that success is a must. While I am still expecting more achievements in my career, I am certain of my current achievements. I always work hard to keep going with design trends, learning new things, and striving to implement them. Just recently, I got myself a brand new laptop that will run most of the Adobe software. I am currently working as a freelancer on top freelancing platforms like Upwork, Fiverr and Guru. My aspirations reach new heights as I explore more in the dynamic field of graphic design. In the real world, design acts as a means of escalating meaningful connections, and creativity is limitless. In this regard, I am looking forward to working with international businesses to advocate for social problems through design activism.
TO UP COMING DESIGNERS
To all upcoming designers, I would say that you're on the right path, but don't be overwhelmed by the current trends because every graphic designer is unique in their own style and pattern and how they create their own designs. You must harness this uniqueness to be successful as a designer. Be unique, be attentive, gather experience, be open to corrections, be confident, and never stop learning. With all this on your mind, the sky will be your starting point.
Wow, I love reading your article. I didn't know you are this good at graphics I'm surprise to here that you are good at adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Adobe After Effects, and Adobe InDesign, and at the same time using your skill to make money from freelancing site. Keep it up 👍
