My Traditional Delight!

in STEEM FOR BETTERLIFE2 months ago (edited)

In my Locality, a man who cooks for his wife is considered a "woman wrapper", meaning he is being nominated by his wife. Is this true? I don't know for others, but for me, I consider such a man as a caring, loving, and supportive husband. So I decided to prepare a special traditional delight which is my wife's Favorite soup, that is "Atama Soup".

Atama Soup is the special soup of the akwa Ibom people in Nigeria. The Atama soup is cooked with leaves from the Atama tree, and the Atama tree has the botanical name "heinsia crinita". This soup is considered special because of its nutritional content, and special taste. Before I speak of the nutritional benefits of Atama Soup, let me mention its Ingredients.

Method For Preparing Atama Soup

Step 1: I Sliced My Atama leaves into smaller sizes to make them smooth and nice; boiled water, poured the Atama leaves into a bowl, poured the hot water into it, and filtered it; this is done to remove dirt and sand.

Step 2: I Sliced my water leaf into a desirable size and kept it aside.

Step 3: I Placed my cooking pot on the fire, put in a Normal quantity of water, washed my stockfish and put, covered it, and allowed it to soften.

Step 4: I Washed my fish, and periwinkle, poured it into the cooking pot, and cooked it alongside the stockfish.

Step 5: When it was properly cooked, I added my steamed meat, oil, crayfish, pepper, salt, and my seasoning cube, stirred it properly, and tasted it to know if everything was in the right proportion. I Covered it for a few minutes.

Step 6: When it was done, I poured in my sliced water leaf, stirred it, and allowed it for a few minutes, after which I added my Atama leaves. lastly, I stirred it to mix properly.
I Enjoyed my Atama Soup with the swallow of my choice.

WHY I CHOSE ATAMA SOUP

  1. Atama Soup is my wife's favorite. I wanted to please her and make her feel loved and supported. It was just a way of appreciating her.

  2. I like the aroma and delicious taste of Atama soup.

  3. Atama soup is nutritionally beneficial.

Nutritional benefits Of Atama Soup

Atama leaves, botanically known as "heinsia crinita", contain vitamins such as A, C, and E that help in nourishing the human skin. The leaf is also enriched with Iron, which helps in the production of red blood cells; therefore, eating Atama helps curb anemia. The soup is always tasty, and eating Atama is beneficial.

My wife Appreciated the soup, I don't know if the soup was as delicious as the ones she used to prepare. Thanks, @goodybest, for this beautiful contest.

Thank you very much for your support and encouraging comments.

Atama soup is aromatically sweet and very tasty. I can recall, the first time I became a glutton was when my Mom prepared Atama soup with banga(extracted oil from palm fruit) instead of preparing with water leaf. The taste and feelings are always special, most especially when the soup is prepared with ice fish and animal's intestine, very salivating.

You have my vote, All the way. Thanks once again.

You know I love atama soup too, though not with water, but Banga! Yours looks delicious and you're so sweet in preparing your wife's favourite for her. And I like the fact that you mentioned the nutritional value of this soup. Success!

Thank you very much. I love that of Banga too, but Atama soup that is prepared with water leaf is worth having a taste of.

Thank you, friend!
