My Knowledge about solar by @gracyakan

Am glad to be here and participate in this Contest with others, hopefully all is well with everyone and thanks to the initiator of this contest because it will help us to think about installing solar in our houses.

INTRODUCTION

Solar energy is the energy that is obtainable by capturing heat and light from the Sun, or it can be referred to as energy from the sun🌞🌞 🌞. Technology provided us a number of ways to utilize this abundant natural resource, It is considered as a green technology because it doesn't emit greenhouse gases. Solar energy is greatly available and has been utilized long ago both as electricity and as a source of heat.

SOLAR TECHNOLOGY CAN BE CLASSIFIED AS :

Active Solar : This is a techniques that include the use of photovoltaic systems, that is concentrated solar power and solar water heated to harness the energy. It is directly consumed in activities like drying of clothes and warming of air.

Passive Solar : This is a techniques that include orienting of a building to the Sun, by selecting favorable materials with thermal mass or light dispersing properties, and designing spaces that will circulate air naturally.

CONVERSION OF SOLAR ENERGY

Solar energy is the energy that is obtainable by capturing heat and light from the Sun, the method of obtaining this electricity from sunlight is called Photovoltaic method, a semiconductor material is used in achieving it. Another form of obtaining solar energy is through thermal technologies, that give two forms of energy tapping methods:

First is solar concentration: It makes solar energy to drive thermal turbines.

Second is heating and cooling systems: It's use in solar water heating and air conditioning.

So the process of converting solar energy into electricity to utilize its energy day to day involve:

• There will be absorption of energy carrying particles in sun’s rays which is called photons.

• Photovoltaic conversion, is inside the solar cells.

• Combination of current from several cells, this step is important due to a single cell having a voltage of less than 0.5 V.

• Conversion of resultant DC to AC.

BENEFITS OF INSTALLING SOLAR POWER IN THE COMMUNITY AND TO THE COUNTRY

• It is a renewable source of energy and not contaminated which means it's clean

• It is not harmful to the earth

• It is available on daily basis

• It's not polluted in anywhere

• It is much better than other sources of energies like fossil fuels and more that pollutes the environment

• It maintenance costs is low

• Solar panel systems does not require a lot of solar power energy

• They come with 5-10 years warranty that is very beneficial

• It reduces the cost of electricity bills

• It drops the cost of utility bills

• It helps us to save extra money

• They are renewable because it produce electricity by transforming the flow of energy from the sun to electricity continuously

• It is carbon iv oxide free because solar energy does not release any harmful emissions into the air while producing electricity

• Solar energy is limitless, sun provides more than enough energy to meet the whole world’s energy needs, unlike fossil fuels, it will not finish or run out anytime

• It does not require fuel to burn

• It's mportant to the earth also because it warms the earth, causes wind and weather, also sustains plant and animal life

HAVE I USED FULL SOLAR ENERGY BEFORE OR ANY GADGET THAT HAS SOLAR AS IT'S SOURCE OF POWER, LIST AND TALK ABOUT THEM, WAS IT A POSITIVE OR NEGATIVE EXPERIENCE

Solar lantern is a simple application of solar photovoltaic technology, that people use when power cut off and it works very well. It is made of three components which are: solar PV panel, storage battery and lamp,operation of it is very simple, just keep it on the sun, a single charge can operate the lamp for four to six hours shining very well.

The experience was a positive one and I can recommend the use of it to another person.

CONCLUSION

In sumary solar energy is cost effective means of energy which is really useful for people, plant and animal. When install solar panels, you can get solar energy which will in turn reduce electricity costs and allow you to lead a sustainable lifestyle. Solar energy is free from pollution, clean and renewable source of energy, so we should use it to the fullest and enjoy it advantages
