This time I want to share with my steemit friends a traditional Acehnese food recipe that is well known throughout the archipelago. Timphan Asoe Kaya, Timphan is a typical snack from Aceh. The main ingredients used to make timphan are flour, banana or pumpkin, and coconut milk. All of these ingredients are then stirred until they are chewy. Then it is made lengthwise and inside it is filled with serikaya or grated coconut mixed with sugar.

This special food is a favorite menu for the Acehnese people and is often served at various events, both in welcoming religious events such as Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha as well as parties. Timphan cake is a market snack that Acehnese enjoy and is accompanied by a cup of coffee. In general, this culinary is very easy to find in every coffee shop in Aceh. This timphan cake is flat, long and wrapped in young banana leaves.

Ingredients:
Glutinous rice flour
Pumpkin or banana

Then round the dough and flatten it on a young banana leaf that has been smeared with cooking oil so it doesn't stick and then filled with srikaya jam. The next step is the dough is folded and rolled. When finished wrapped, then put in the steamer and steamed until cooked. Once cooked, Timphan asoe kaya is removed and ready to be served and eaten.
