The Diary Game || 31 July 2023|| Screening participants for Sickle cell Status.

I greet you all from West Africa to be precise Ghana. I hope that this greeting finds you well. I find it a privilege to come your way to share with you about my activities.

For today, I will be sharing with this great community the activities I did on the 31st day of July in the year 2023. I am with strong faith and believe that you will enjoy every aspect of my daily activities if you join me to visualize them. Without wasting much time, let's dive into it.

Preparing my breakfast

After waking up around 6:02 AM, I was able to get all the things in place and I had to start with my daily activities. I started with the normal sweeping of the room, mobbing the flow, I then have to clean the windows as well. This was because I did not clean them during the weekend.

I had to finish that as early as I could and I jumped into something else. All I have to do was to locate and identify something else. I quickly brought out the dishes I ate last night to was. It took me about 11 minutes to finish all that. I was happy to have finished it so quickly. I had to prepare breakfast.

I kept some water on the fire during the time I was washing the dishes. Hence when I was done with the dishes the water was also ready for the breakfast preparation. I then went ahead and brought the things I would use to prepare it. I kept my Milo inside and added my milk. I have to fry an egg because that is what I will be using to eat the tea. I picked the eggs and added all the things I will need to add and in about five minutes, I was done with that. I ensure the temperature of the tea reduces and then afterward, I took it.

I then went to the bathroom to take my bath and when I was done, I was able to come to get my shirt in the room. I quickly ironed it and wore it. I was then ready for work. I then closed my door and left for work. It again took me less than 7 minutes to get to the workplace on foot.

I went to enter my details for reporting to work and then I went ahead to get the tools I would need to do my cleaning. Fortunately, the services guys were around hence I gave it to them to work on. They did their best to help me work on it.

We had earlier planned that we will be going to the field in other to swabs the members to confirm for blood samples to be take. It was also agreed that after the swab samples are taken, they will have to take heir blood samples for screening and the screening has to do with their sickling status.

I was the one to be performing the test for these particular people in other to confirm if they have the sickling or they are pure negative. It has to do with either the person is AA or AS, AC or AE. It was a long talk but we could not end at the point we are. It was a great point at the end.

I had to be test for over 30 different individual and each individual takes about 8 minutes to complete. Hence it was a marvelous one when it comes to the work. After testing and doing all these things, we were given food and we had to enjoy it. We then brought the samples to the lab to continue the lab work for those who qualifies.

It was a great a tough day in all because of how tiring it was for us to complete the work at the field. And coupling that with the lab work at the main lab, it was not an easy task. It took us about 4 hours to complete the lab work and we closed around 9 PM and we went home to rest.
