"Steemit Engagement Challenge S9-W6: "Goal setting for the year"

I am here to participate in Season 9 Week 6 of the Steemit Engagement Challenge by STEEM FOR BETTER LIFE and would like to thank them for giving me an opportunity to reveal a few of my set targets.

  

I must say, you're right; most of us set goals when we start something new or are about to begin a new session. I have a special reason to set my goals for the year. I have just completed my first year here at Steemit and am ready to begin my next with new vigor and afresh, and I have a few ideas for that.

To be frank, I knew nothing when I joined this website, so I did what I thought was right, or you can say as per my instinct, and made lots of mistakes, but now I am ready to take the bull by the horn. I have some practical points to achieve if all goes well and according to my plans.

I have never written in any previous contest about my plans because I don't trust boasting, but probably this is about the time I set a few goals and tried my best to fulfill them.

What specific goals did you set for the year?

  
I had posted 499 posts in the first year at a rate of 1.36 per day, but I would not be able to maintain my current rate since I'm about to go back to my regular job in Australia, so I assume that I would probably post one each day after a few weeks. Therefore, I hope to reach my post count of 700 by the end of this year.

I have been adding about 25 Steem to my account every day of late, so I believe I shall be able to add another 6,000 in the remaining 7+ months to take my wallet strength somewhere close to 13500 SP. However, I would leave no stone unturned to reach the status of 3x dolphin status by the end of this year.

How have you worked to achieve your set goal?

  
There is no other way to achieve a goal unless you put all your efforts into it and work wholeheartedly for it, so I will do as many contests as I can, earn as many Steem as possible, and achieve my target.

I have been trying to learn as much about blockchain as possible, so I am working seriously on that. I am also trying to learn to read and write Spanish and doing my best for that, and I am also trying to learn the ropes of moderation by learning the finer points, so I am working on that aspect as well.

How has your goal impacted or will impact others?

  
Sure, I have been working hard and conducting contests at the private level, as I have done almost 10 so far and paid for them from my wallet. That not only helped me but helped a number of regulars as well as newbies to earn and increase their rank, and when you do something in the mutual interest of others, it definitely helps the one who takes the initiative. I am lucky that all my contests worked well and benefited each of us.

How have you benefited from setting and achieving those goals?

  
To be frank, I do not believe in setting false goals but keep them as long as I can achieve them. I would like to share a secret with you all. Being a marketing professional, I know that setting something bigger than capacity makes you overstressed, and you can't do what you like or do your best, so I set only 80%, and if I reach beyond that, I take it as a bonus.

Professionally, I always completed only 80–90% of my targets set by my superiors. I did that intentionally because they would always increase the achieved target by 20%. So now I set only 80% of what I can easily achieve, so I can focus better and avoid a stressful mental conditions. So I am setting 13500 SP by the end of this year, but I am sure I will reach 3x dolphin status by the end of this year. I have yet another target in mind, and that's to reach rank 74 by the end of this year, God willing.

However, I am not thinking in terms of moderation or applying for any post of responsibility, at least not in the current year.
