Gotong royong comes from the word in Javanese. The word gotong can be matched with the word pikul or lift. The word royong can be equated with together. So the word gotong royong simply means lifting something together or also being interpreted as doing something together. For example: lifting a table which is done together, cleaning the gutter by the villagers, and so on. So, gotong royong has an understanding as a form of active participation of each individual to get involved in giving added or positive value to every object, problem or need of the people around him. This active participation can be in the form of assistance in the form of material, financial, physical energy, mental spirituality, skills, contributions of thoughts or constructive advice. Conceptually, gotong royong can be interpreted as a mutually agreed model of cooperation.

Two types of gotong royong are known by the Indonesian people; mutual assistance, mutual assistance and mutual cooperation. Mutual assistance activities to help occur in activities such as agriculture, activities around the household, party activities, celebration activities and in the event of a disaster or death.
Meanwhile, community service activities are usually carried out to do something of a nature
for the public interest, which is distinguished between gotong royong at the initiative of the citizens and forced mutual cooperation.

The following are some examples of the general gotong royong that we do to clean the gutters together, the point is to beautify the area / alley of the village. We do mutual cooperation, namely in the village of Beunot Dusun Kuta Tuha. This activity is a routine for the residents of Kuta Tuha Hamlet that we often do. especially when welcoming religious holidays. I also need to say that doing Gotong Royong is involving all elements, both the old and the children. Our goal in involving children is to cultivate a sense of mutual cooperation that we must cultivate from childhood.
