Vegetables are extremely beneficial for health, and using them extensively in our diet is essential for good health. And I am thankful to @goodybest mam, for giving us the opportunity to share vegetable recipe with all of you. Here I'm sharing a Healthy and super tasty Okra Recipe.

We call it 'Bhindi' in our native language and in English it's known as Okra/Lady Finger Okra . It is everyone's favorite in Pakistan, people love to eat it with great enthusiasm. Everyone in my household loves it too. It's easy to make and cooks quickly. Okra (Bhindi) has many benefits. Everyone has their own way of cooking it, but I'll share my method with you all and some tips and tricks too.

I make okra at least once a week because it's a family favorite! I learned all my recipes from my mom and grandma, who are the best teachers ever. I like to keep things simple with regular spices that everyone has at home, so the veggies stay flavorful and aromatic, and turn out delicious!"

Here's what you need to make it:

  • 1/2 kg okra (bhindi/lady finger)
  • 2 large onions
  • 2 large tomatoes
  • 3 green chilies
  • 1 cup cooking oil
  • 1 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili flakes
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon coriander powder

Instructions:

Take a clean pot and add half cup cooking oil. Heat the oil and add okra (bhindi). Cook until the okra's sliminess disappears.

Remove the okra and set it aside. Add a little more oil to the same pot and sauté the onions until they're translucent.

Add tomatoes and cook until they're soft.

Add spices and mix well. Then add the fried okra (bhindi) and mix with the spices.

Cook on low heat for 10 minutes so the okra absorbs the flavors.finally garnish it with fresh coriander and green chilli And Now delicious okra dish is ready 😋.

Some tips and tricks:

  • Also, remember to wash the okra (bhindi) and let it dry completely before cutting it. If it's not drying, use a kitchen towel or cloth to dry it thoroughly and then cut it. This will make cooking easier and require less effort.
  • You can add or remove ingredients according to your taste.
  • Frying the okra first removes excess moisture, making it more flavorful and easier to cook.
  • You can also make the masala first and then add the okra.
  • Remove the seeds from the okra, you can plant them in your home garden or a small pot. The okra I used is from my home garden.

Bhindi (Okra/Lady Finger) is a common vegetable in our homes, but few people know its benefits and proper usage. Here i am sharing the amazing benefits of okra for overall health.

Specially the Okra adding in diet can also help reduce stress and protect against various diseases. The fiber in okra promotes healthy digestion and prevents constipation. Also okra's high vitamin C content supports immune function and overall health.
