Weekly Reflections #24: "An Inspirational Person I Admire"
Greetings to you my amazing friends and steemians of Steem for better life. I became so emotional when I came across this contest. I was emotional because of this inspirational and special person I so much admire. Trust me, you wouldn't want to miss out in knowing who this person is, why shes my inspiration and how she has positively impacted on me.
Thanks to @damithudaya for organizing this contest.
My Mom.
My Mom's name is Theresa. She's a very hard working, honest, trusting worthy and a strong woman with a golden heart. If you are looking for the definition of a "mother", you need not check the dictionary or Wikipedia but by mere watching her, you'll know who a mother is.
My Mom has been my inspiration ever since I was a child. She is the source of my strength, my pillar, my mentor and role model. I grew up to see my mother struggle to make ends meet. She has been a warrior ever since I got to know her. She has taught me never to take rejection for an answer. She taught me that persistency, consistency and and commitment are keys to success. That the word "NO" actually means "Next Opportunity".
Mom has a very good and clear vision for the future. Many atimes when I feel like giving up thinking it's over and it's the end of it, she always reminds me that the word "END" means "Efforts Never Dies". I've learnt that failure is part of the learning process. She always cites how Thomas Edison tried and failed about 2,774 times before he was able to invent a working electric bulb.
My Mom has always challenged me to try something new. This challenge has actually helped me in my career advancement as I always made new discoveries each time I tried doing something different. Even though most times I do get it wrong but Mom will always cheer me up, telling me that whosoever that has never failed in life have never tried something new. My boldness and courage came from my Mom.
Mom has always inspired me not to be selfish and full of myself but to always be humble and ensure that I care for others as much as I care for myself and to extend a helping hand at any given time when I have the means. Growing up, I've seen Mom assist of neighbors even when we don't have much. She ensures she split whatsoever she's got in the house and share with other neighbors in need. Her act of kindness has greatly influenced me to show love and kindness to people around me. Also, the act of gratitude was inspired by my mom. No matter how little the gesture shown her, she will keep appreciating you each time your paths cross. I've learnt to appreciate people for any act of kindness shown, no matter how little it is.
On the path of integrity, this is one aspect my mom doesn't joke with. She ensures that she's transparent, honest and ensures that whatsoever she does can be accounted for. She has a very high ethical standard that she dares not compromise come what may. I think this quality I acquired from her is one of the reasons why I've been entrusted with so my responsibilites both within and outside work.
I can go on and on because the list is endless. I'll love to pause here and invite my lovely friends @vickson @ashley-p @ibrahim to also share with us about that inspirational person they so admire.

Good mothers are like angels in human form. Today, I read about one such mother. Your mom is truly remarkable. One of the hardest things in the world is instilling good values and principles in our children, but she accomplished this by setting a great example. She is amazing, and may she live to see the fruits of her labor.
Amen. A day never passes by without saying a short prayer for my mom. She's an angel in human form. I thank her for all she did and is still doing for me. I'm currently walking in her footpaths and I hope I'll be a great asset to my community just like her.
