Contest of Local Culture and Traditions||jaranan|| club5050|| by @chopper46
This is my first post in this community, therefore allow me first to introduce myself to the entire team and members in this community, my name is Wandy with my account name @chopper46 i'm from Dewantara Aceh Utara
In this post I want to participate in a contest to review local culture and traditions
And that I want to discuss this time is the traditional dance of jaranan or also called kuda lumping
JARANAN
Jaranan is a traditional dance performed by dancers riding artificial horses, this art comes from the ancient kingdom of East Java which was born in the 10th century
As we know, Aceh has various types of tribes such as Gayo, Alas, and not a few Javanese people who live in Aceh Therefore, it is not surprising that this art can also be seen in several areas in Aceh which have the majority of Javanese
In addition to containing many artistic and cultural values, this dance is also inseparable from magical elements and spiritual values, this dance is usually played by a group of experienced young people.
Trance are mandatory in this art, that's the reason why everyone who follows this dance must be mentally prepared and experienced
The reason dancers must be ready to be in a trance is because in ancient times people believed in ancestral spirits so this dance was intended to communicate with their ancestors.
In this dance there is also a handler who is in charge of performing rituals and chanting spells to summon ancestral spirits and heal dancers who are possessed
When the spirit has entered the dancer's body, the dancer will automatically be unconscious, they will dance to the flow of music with their artificial horse and perform attractions such as eating flowers, broken glass and so on.
In terms of music, the musicians must play the rhythm of the music according to the request of the spirit that enters the body of the dancer who plays the dance
The musical instruments are quite simple, because they only consist of gongs, drums, gamelan and kenong
The unique thing in Jaranan art is that in addition to entertainment, this art is also devoted to rituals and respect for their ancestors and is still preserved by the community, especially the Javanese
That's a little discussion about the jaranan that I can convey, I also took my friend @itikna09 to participate in this contest
As Indonesian people, we should respect every tradition and cultural custom of each region, this is in accordance with the motto of our country, namely Bhinneka Tunggal Ika
My best regards to @irawandedy @heriadi @klen.civil
I see jaranan is almost the same as kuda kepang which is often held in several villages in Cot Girek sub-district
Yes my brother that's what he is
