Solar energy is a wonderful and awfully magnificent source of power available to man from a clear distance.

Man simply cannot exist without the sun .

Solar energy according to the National Geographic information gives a vibrant and vivid image of how the sun creates energy.

" Solar energy is created by nuclear fusion that takes place in the sun which occurs when protons of hydrogen atoms ( positively charged parts of the atom ) fuse violently to create a helium atom

This process ( Proton- Proton chain reaction ) emits an enormous amount of energy fusing over 620 MILLION METRIC TONS of hydrogen every second

Today, photovoltaics is probably the most familiar way to harness solar energy. Photovoltaic arrays usually involve solar panels, a collection of dozens or even hundreds of solar cells.

Each solar cell contains a semiconductor, usually made of silicon. When the semiconductor absorbs sunlight, it knocks electrons loose. An electrical field directs these loose electrons into an electric current, flowing in one direction. Metal contacts at the top and bottom of a solar cell direct that current to an external object. The external object can be as small as a solar-powered calculator or as LARGE as a power station.

   For heating water – this uses a process known as solar thermal energy.
   To heat air – think about greenhouses and conservatories.
   When growing crops – the sun is a major influencer in food production.

Have you used any source of solar energy before and how was your experience:

I have used a solar powered calculator for about 2 years now and a solar powered torch light also acting as a Power bank.

I find that the calculator's battery and it's solar energy power has made my calculator to last more than usual

The Torch light that acts like a power bank also charges with the sun rays or dark nights when the moon is really bright

It serves me throughout the night during school hours or when reading or meditating.

CONCLUSION

In Nigeria today, remote and rural areas developing usually have a lot of sun reaching them , and in order for such areas to grow quickly, they need cleaner sources of electricity rather than depending on fossil fuels.
The cleaner air in such areas and the biodiversity present there are more unaffected than those in the city .
They and those trees, animals and sources of life at least need to be maintained.

Already populated with more than enough people for the fossil fuels to go round , another factor solar power plants has to consider is its no Noise pollution.

Factories, engines and most generators produce enough Noise, heat and greenhouse gases for Nigeria's atmosphere to handle in the nearest future.
