Contest - How to Effectively Utilize Technology in Learning.

INTRODUCTION

Steemians in the community, I welcome you all to this contest that brings to bare, the effective utilization of technology in learning. Technology has evolved and still evolving, hence using or applying technology to learn continues all the way. The advancement in technology has improved lives so much so one could comfortably stay at home and undertake some studies that otherwise, could have gotten by going through the physical study centers. This is to say that technology has removed the encumbrances often associated with traveling to study centers. Non the less, even when someone has to be on the spot of physical learning, the utilization of technology has gone a long way to aid teaching and learning processes. Suffice it to say that technology is now the efficient and effective way of modern day learning.

The contest hosted by @shiftitamanna, is one of the technology oriented contests that has to do with how we can apply technology effectively, to enhance learning.

But one may not get it clear if this transformative gadget or tool called “technology,” is not well described for its meaning to be well understood also. Hence we ask:

WHAT IS TECHNOLOGY?

On a broarder perspective, technology could be looked at as the application of scientific models, inventions, rules, principles and methodologies in various endeavors of our lives.

Well for me, I look at technology from two perspectives and are:

• That technology is the use of scientific models to accomplish or fulfill tasks that produces results in a multiplicative way.

• I also look at technology as the products from the application the scientific model. The products may include tangible products such as machines, tools and utensils as well as non tangible products like program softwares.

Technology goes beyond the scientific concepts or models to the items been produced from the utilization of the concepts or models.

How I learn something new by using technology

The use of technology has not just improved learning but also the teaching processes. I make use of technology in both teaching and learning. Since ever learning the technology skills needed for teaching and learning, it has made my transfer and receiving of knowledge quite easy. While teaching and learning, I make use of the following technologies:

• The computer systems both laptop and desktop
• Projectors
• My phone
• Technology Softwares
  With all theses put together, my teaching and learning processes becomes less cumbersome.

Types Of Technologies That Could be Utilized For Effective Learning:

Nowadays, effective and efficient learning could be enhanced through the utilization of the appropriate technology and learning gadgets. Some technology gadgets that could aid in the teaching and learning environment includes:

• The Virtual Reality For Education (VR):
  Using the VR for education, this technology is used for students to communicate through the 3D environment. An example of this is the VR technology provided by Google.

• The biometrics for education:
  This technology is used to monitor students punctuality and attendance to school. It is further used for tracking students eye, voice, face, fingers and contacts for purposes of tracking impersonation during examinations and the likes.

• Artificial Intelligence For Learning:
  This is a technology product that could be Utilized for learning. The AI is deployed to perform some tasks like having a personalized learning for students having special needs. This technology is further utilized for scoring of students subjects as well as giving report about the areas that needs attention.

• The Social media for learning:

Various institutions of learning at all levels, are now keying into the the social media space for enlarged interaction and learning. Social networking sites are put in place where activities such meetings, competitions and even parties events are released. Students in every part of the world get connected and and have interactions.

The Importance Of Technology In Learning:

Using technology in learning is important in the following ways:

• Saves Time and energy
  Using technology to learn saved time and energy as it helps to do more work with little energy and saving more time to be used for other areas of learning needing attention.

• Technology makes communication and exchange of ideas in learning effective

• Technology provides various type of learning skills, materials and methods which simplify the learning processes.

• It provides a faster solution to problems

• Using technology as a learning tool makes it understandable, interesting, fun, simple and clear.

CONCLUSION

Without technology, the world would not have been where it is now. Technology innovations, development and solution systems has been so helpful that research could easily be done on any subject matter from any part of the world. In fact, day by day, learning becomes simplified because of continuous innovation and development in technology.
