Travel Contest - Have You Been Here (Nuwaraeliya Gregory Park)

This is my entry to the contest, Travel Contest - Have You Been Here, organized by @irawandedy.

Have you been to Gregory Park?

Nuwara Eliya is a very famous traveling destination in Sri Lanka. It is a great example of the different weather conditions in this small country. Even though Sri Lanka is near the equator, the Nuwara Eliya area has very cold weather. A foreign visitor might wonder to feel this cold weather in a country like Sri Lanka.
My wife and I visited there a few months ago.
We departed at around 8.00 am in the morning from our hometown, Balangoda. We had our breakfast on the way at one of the famous restaurants in Haputale called "Olive Leisure". This restaurant was built in an old tea factory.
After another one and a half hours, we could arrive at Nuwara Eliya.
Since it was a weekend, many people were hanging out at Gregory Park. Many fun activities were available at the park, such as different types of boat rides and small airplane rides. We weren't very interested in these activities, so we decided to walk in the park. Even though it was a sunny day, we didn't feel any uncomfortable in the cold climate in the Nuwara Eliya.
It was pleasant to see people, especially the children, playing and enjoying the Gregory lake. The sunny weather and the cold weather made their time much more enjoyable.
After finishing the walk, we started to enjoy some of the fast foods available at Gregory Lake. We enjoyed some potato chips and sausages at the park, and this meal was enough to fill our stomachs.
Then we started to take photos at this beautiful location. Gregory Park is a great place to take some good photographs.
After taking some photos, we started our journey to the next destination.
So, if you are going to visit Sri Lanka, do not forget to visit Nuwara Eliya town and the famous Gregory Park.
