In Greek mythology, a monster named Minotarius was known and, despite the time that has passed, it continues to be a very intriguing topic since, some people claim that it was only a myth, however, others claim that it was a 100% real legend. To begin the mystical story behind him I can detail that his body was man, however, the head was that of a bull.

Referring to the birth of the Minotaur we can highlight that, there are several versions that explain the events generated after the affront caused by Pasiphae and because of that, he had the need to have to join the bull of Crete. It was easy for her to do this because, she felt a foolish passion for him and this allowed her to get pregnant.

Now, the version that has stood out the most in history explains that, Minos, who was the son of Zeus, asked the god Poseidon so that all the citizens would acclaim him as a king quickly since, his father, Asterion had died and Crete, did not have the representation of a king.

The god Poseidon for his part listened to the request of Minos and, at that very moment, made a very beautiful white bull come out of the sea; when Minos saw him, he immediately promised that he would sacrifice him in his name. However, when he was impressed by all the qualities that this bull had, he decided to hide it in his flock and, to replace him, he ended up sacrificing another bull.

This sacrifice, Minos did without anyone knowing, however, a while later Poseidon found out and, anger took hold of him to the point of wanting revenge because he felt mocked. In order to carry out his revenge, he cast a spell on Pasiphae so that she would have irrepressible desires for the white bull that Minos had kept.

In order for this union to be consummated, Pasiphae asked For his help from Daedalus, who built a cow with wood and to give it more resistance, he covered it with the skin of this animal. This way she was going to be able to get in without any problem. The bull, believing it to be a cow, lay with it and in this way, the Minotaur is born.

As far as the Minotaur's diet is concerned, it only ate human flesh and, as it grew, increased its wild instinct. Due to the lack of control that the Minotaur had because of his savagery, Daedalus made the decision to build a labyrinth; the structure was gigantic and became known as The Labyrinth of Crete.

The Minotaur was thrown in this place and according to the mythological versions, 14 young people were interned in the labyrinth every 1, 3 or 9 years as punishment, they began a very agonizing journey because, they had to prevent the Minotaur from reaching them, however, days after being running and hiding, they finally became the favorite food of this human bull.

Several years later and tired of the constant and cruel punishments by the Athenians, the son of Aegeus, whose name is Theseus, made the decision to kill the Minotaur in order to free Crete from the condemnation imposed by Minos. After Theseus reached the Labyrinth of Crete, he undertook a journey and several days later, he found the Minotaur; without much protocol, he murdered him immediately.

Finally, it is essential to keep in mind that, the various versions that exist regarding the death of the Minotaur, do not coincide in their entirety, however, the one that has spread the most with the passage of history, is this and according to historians, in all the documentation they made the decision to accept to place the various versions because, each in its own way has a proof that confirms its version.
