Steem blockchain offers many varied earning opportunities: communities, curation, interest on SP, capital gain and leasing are a few. There are many more.
Depending on the investment horizon of the user, the strategy used to maximize earnings would differ from person to person.

I have not invested ; thus I create contents which could be upvoted as deemed by whoever! This has not yielded anything worth my time financially . But I am satisfied to be given the platform to reach varied audience with my thoughts in posts !!

Your strategy seems to be earnings through blogging on steemit. That is a very effective method, if followed through with consistent posting, commenting and replying over a long-period. You will gather a large follower base from this, who will get your articles as feeds in their feed daily. Having obtained a large follower base, you will have ready readers who can potentially give you more followers when your followers resteem your posts.
This is a long-term strategy which is worth the effort because in the long-run it will yield high returns, when Steem price goes to the moon, provided you have large follower base.
For this strategy to work effectively you will need to make sure that you power-up all your earning promptly and upvote other users' posts regularly. Upvoting with maximum SP earns you returns too. Always remember that. Many successful bloggers on steem, partially automate their upvotes and manually upvote the rest to the maximum allowed daily. You can earn in excess of 30% APR of your SP, if you upvote to the fullest. This way, you are always upvoting someone at all times. Upvoting also brings in new followers. In some cases, upvoting and powering-up combined can double your current SP in a year. This is excluding the gains you make in building your follower base.
You don't seem to be powering-up your earning regularly, preferably daily. That is a waste and a miscalculation, if you intend to go long-term with blogging.
