What I Have Learned Lately In Steemit by @jenesa

When I look back and compare my walk with Steemit from then in 2018 and now, there's really a whole lot more to tell. I have seen and experienced carefully designed changes from the platform itself down to the engagement of its users. These changes, great changes have developed a better face of Steemit as a blogging platform and as a community as well. Its impact on me has gone farther and wider.

STEEMIT AS A BLOGGING PLATFORM

One of the commendable changes that I like the most with Steemit now is the creation of the different communities which classify the contents, making it a lot easier for the sharers to select what communities are they gonna engage in, depending on their interests and crafts. Steemit is like storage of ideas and information with shelves that are designed accordingly and that each of them contains safely the published works that share similar interests. This change might not be a new one, but this is really one of the best improvements in the platform worth stressing upon. This just appears new to me since I had left my blogging adventure with Steemit for 3-year long, and I had just gotten back here this year.

STEEMIT AS A COMMUNITY

Steemit has actively involved and engaged everyone around. It's way very visible through various programs and tasks where everyone can have the chance to participate.

  • Achievement tasks for newcomers

This is somehow up to the users if they're gonna go through it. I had done only achievement 1, my self-introduction. However, while I feel very much involved now, I have learned that it is really not anymore an option but a necessity to go through and accomplish all of the achievement tasks. Reading the achievement tasks post of others, I already have learned meaningful and useful guides, how much more If I would do it myself. Yes, these tasks aim to help everyone, especially the new ones to understand how Steemit works, as a community and as a blockchain. Now, I am very much excited to continue with these, and learn more, especially on the curation, like how it works.

This is really way beneficial especially for the new ones, as this serves as their compass in their journey here. With this initiative, everyone's given a fair chance to grow along with the growth of the community.

  • Curation Support

Well, I am not really that confident with when and how many times would the curators curate the same author's posts in a week, but I have noticed that an author's quality posts would only be recommended for curation support by the communities' MODs just twice or even once a week. Somehow, this is to give a fair chance to others who're also doing well with their articles.

In this way, the curation accounts would be able to reach more content writers, which in this case, is a very good way of extending fair support to as much as possible, everyone here.

  • Contests and Other Engaging Activities

I have observed that almost all of the communities have run several contests. This is way an advantage to both parties, the community itself and the content writers, for it makes Steemit more engaging as it gives one another content to publish along with the opportunity to share theirs about the topic being brought up in the contests. Of course, with the pool of prizes, certainly, no one wouldn't be encouraged and motivated to join.

ONE COMMUNITY, ONE GOAL

With the steemit team's goal to raise the value of steem and produce independent communities, I have sensed the strong campaigns for Steemit hovering around the entire community.

  • The promosteem activities has been intensified - the increasing number of promoting steemit posts (may it be a self promosteem report or a contest entry) everyday is just one of solid pieces of evidence.
  • Aside from the promosteem campaign, the one on power-up has also been strengthened. Several contests on powering up have popped up. And for one to grow here, powering up is somewhat the key. Also, with powering up and boosting one's account, you could go far, and double your return, and that's by delegating, which in a way contribute also to producing independent communities that could support their active users enough.

These are so far the things and I have learned from my personal observations of what's goin' on here. Well, a great thanks to @mcsamm for initiating such a contest that provides us the perfect avenue and time to share things like this.

Well I guess, that would be all. See you in the next one folks.
