The Hacienda 4D coffee farm is a family farm with a coffee and cocoa tradition that dates back approximately 150 years, four generations have dedicated their effort to produce an excellent raw material for the national coffee and chocolate industry. About 8 years ago, @daniellozada received the administration of the farm to give it significant changes and consolidate what is today the Hacienda 4D coffee brand. Hacienda 4D is located in the mountainous area of ​​Bergantín in Venezuela, approximately 3 hours from the capital of the Anzoátegui State Barcelona, ​​in the well-known Turimiquire mountain range which is part of three eastern states of the country and which has among its mountains the important Turimiquire reservoir, which provides drinking water to all eastern states.

This is a privileged area because it has mountains between 900 and 1800 m above sea level with beautiful rivers of crystalline water and very tall and very old trees, the climate is ideal to develop coffee growing being able to produce very high quality coffees and very good aroma and flavor. We can also say that it is an area with a lot of biodiversity and a protected area where river basins converge and where migratory birds come to rest in certain seasons, which will allow us to certify our farm with the Bird Friendly and USDA seal in the near future Organic.

We are conservationists and friendly with the environment

At the farm we think about the future and about conserving these ecosystems for future generations, that is why we are producing food in an organic, sustainable and environmentally friendly way. Since its inception, the Hacienda has produced threshed coffee beans for the national agribusiness and raw material for various brands that made the respective tastes and the marketing of roasted coffee. It was not until when @DanielLozada receives the administration of the farm who brings a change of course and that we began to produce the first roasted coffee beans with artisanal and low-capacity machinery, at that moment the Café Hacienda 4D brand was born, offering to the consumer an exquisite coffee beans and ground in various presentations.

We also opened our first point of sale in the municipal peasant market, to offer our products at a lower price, not only the coffee and cocoa that we produce but other local products, the vision is to open several points of sale in various markets of the city ​​in the near future. Constant training is the key to success!

Approximately 4 years ago after an intense program of training and international certifications with the best teachers, as well as coffee and barista schools both in Venezuela and other countries (Colombia and Costa Rica), we began the production of high quality coffees or the called specialty coffees, which are a global trend. A few months later we began to work with the first honey-processed coffee, natural and washed with special fermentations, this to accentuate its flavors and aromas. That was a novelty here in Venezuela, of course there were already some indications of honey work in Costa Rica and Colombia, but in our country there was no brand offering micro-lots and differentiated process coffees at that time.

We also saw the need to train consumers and hold events to create the culture of good coffee, since not everyone knew the different flavors and aromas offered by high-quality coffees, for many the coffee was coffee and was only consumed to energize by action of caffeine. It was useless to make an effort on the farm to obtain differentiated coffees and specialty coffees if the consumer did not value it. In this desire to make our work known and that these products will gain popularity, our school of Barista and specialty coffees was born, about which I will be writing later.

Talking about the future Hacienda 4D is talking about many dreams and projects in the medium and long term, whether it is increasing production on the farm and the capacity for roasting, packaging and storage, expanding our distribution perimeter to reach more homes and more consumers. Also within the plans is to make a development of an ecotourism project a reality where people can go to the farm to spend the night there to consume our coffees on the site, while knowing and enjoying the plantations, this in conjunction with an experience of mountain biking trekking among others.
