You can do that , it's not bad idea, depending on your working schedule, like my dad that has his own personal business, he used one plot of land that is close to our house,for his farming, sometimes he plants, yam, cassava, pineapple, corn, and there are different fruit like, orange, Avocado, Africa pear, mango, tangerine, lime, Guava, pumpkin, plantain, banana, etc, there are other things he planted too and it was really helpful to us, even though he was doing it to pass time anytime he didn't go to his business or his workers are there, when things was expensive and scarce that was when i realized that what my father was doing was really helpful, it's not that he is doing it as someone who doesn't have work, infact he pays people to weed the grass for he, there was time people that were coming to our for my dad to sell some of it to them but i Dad said he is not selling it.
So many people will see it as a dirty work, that is why some of them are in to white collar jobs, you can still be doing that and pay people to do the farming for you, it's something that you can get fresh and good thing from the farm without going to the market to get, the benefit you will get from it will be better than what you spend on it and you will get fresh and healthy things too

Sometimes you can go to the store or market to get some fresh fruit or vegetable you will not like what you are seeing but when you have it at home, you can eat fresh, so it's not a bad idea.

I really enjoy it a lot anytime feel like eating fruit i will just go there and plug it fresh and enjoy myself sometimes i use it to do smoothie or juice too
