RE: contest: Roles Of Family Owner To Maintain Family Bonding by @rich9090

in SteemFamily2 years ago

Historically in rural Europe and North America, the men would provide for their family by starting to work in the early morning (when the sun would rise) and continue to work until late in the day. This was true in the spring and summer. The farmer would need to grow enough food in a few months enough to last through the winter. The women would have a complementary role of maintaining a garden, preparing food and nurturing the family.

I have the belief that in Africa, food was available year round. Historically it was a hunter-gatherer society where the men would go out to hunt.

If you could clarify what societies were like in Africa a couple hundred years ago, I would appreciate the education.

Three of my great-grandfathers died before their time leaving their older sons to help the mothers run their farms. My other great-grandfather was married and had a family with one woman who died. He then married as second woman with whom he also had children and she died. He married again and had a single child and then he died with a long white beard. I am saying this because historically in Canada, life was not easy for men or women.

Perhaps it is only in my mind, but I think the men in your society must be very frustrated. They have evolved for thousands of years to hunt lions, but there are no lions to hunt.
