With its long cold and forlorn hands
Dripping with the blood of those
Who least prepared
Who were in the least mood
Who never dreamt of this journey

Who can resist when the knock rings at the door?
Who can defer when the creditor comes asking?
Who can wriggle out when the ancient mahogany door
Bangs shut and never open again
Closes only to open on the other side
Yes, it is sobering

So let's just be merry today
